Or we can get real philosophical. "Why are we here?"

WE arent here. I am "here", you are "there", whihc is "here" to you, while my "here" is "there" to you. so "why are we here?" should be "why are we in our respective 'heres'?" "What brought us to these heres?" "how did it come to pass that we should be in our respective heres at any given moment?" "is it desing or accident."

As you can see, this quickly turns into splitting hairs and becomes incredibly subjective. the only thing that can be truly known objectively, beyond all opinion is that Lucy Lawless look slike an idiot with blonde hair and cant sing for shit.

I think most people would consider 'here' as a noun to mean 'on earth' in this case, rather than as an adverb pointing to a specific location on the planet (which is straightforward physics).

It isn't particularly philosophical to understand we were born here, or to trace ape/sea-creature ancestors back as far as you like.

The question of why/how life as we know it formed here in the first place is answered by the positioning of the earth in the universe - what caused the initial spark of growth/sentience remains undecided as of yet.

why are we here on earth ? chance

why are we here at all anywhere ? chance
