it says that everything is functioning correctly. i have no fucking idea what he did.

how would i reinstall the drivers without the installation cd ( idiot lost it ) ? anything i can download off the net that would be compatible with windows xp ?

for the trolls who would say this isn't the place to be asking this, know that i couldn't give a flying fuck :)

you can reinstall the drivers with the 'live update' option instead of disks... you'll get the latest version that way.
If there isnt anything on the Windows site you may have to find the model and make of your card (it's printed on the card usually) and try to find the manufacturers home page (support area)

i hope thats not the case - it's doable but it can be a pain in the ass - soundcards and modems are notoriously pricks to install ..

i hope it does help - and you can do it on your own ...
or some crook at a PC service place will rob you blind doing 5 minutes worth of work to get it going.

if it doesnt you can PM me .. i can give you a list of last-ditch-effort things to try ..
