and you have to admit there is a certain goofyness to it - the look, the actions, the image ... there are so many that look and act and sound exactly alike ...


i'm not saying i hate it - but i cant figure out the guys who listen to it exclusively (or any other type of music for that matter)

I guess along with punk it becomes more of a lifestyle than a music choice for a lot of people. But yeh every genre has its shit bands (who seem to hong the limelight). A lot of genre style music sounds the same to the untrained ear also. Over the last couple of years I've been listening almost exclusivley to punk mainly because a lot of the bands are the only thing remotley interesting thing happening with modern music. Some of these bands are doing amazing shit musically and actually have something worthwhile to say.

I like a lot of metal musically (I love the breakdown grooves and a lot of the riffs have a very creative use of notes) but lyrically its predominatley shit. I can't be fucked hearing about Satan and all that bullshit.

Another thing that pisses me off about metal is the moshpits. There usually filled with big fucking morons bullies out to maim each other.

Metal music is just awful (personal opinion). Metalheads just take the "Darkness" way to seriously. Its really funny, but its more sad then funny.

I just don't understand the long hair, black clothes, and horrible singing. For music that pretends to be "Different", they all look the same and act the same.

punk bands have awful singers but they are unique unlike Metal. Its all SCREAMINGS or YELLING! I don't understand screaming that much, only if my penis was cut off or if it was the size of a walnut. That makes sense
