I'm not gonna bother picking just one.
Shaun of the Dead rates pretty high for me, the horror/zombie elements were in no way spoiled by the comedy. Likeable (and hate-able) characters, and great dialugue. Excellent all-round film, I can watch it again and again. I also LOVE the gore factor in Braindead, even though I'm not sure if you'd really perceive that as a "zombie movie", it has zombie type things in it though. On grossout factor, this one wins The original night of the living dead nowadays, I hated it the first time I attempted it because I didn't look past the fact it was in black and white (I mean hey, I was 9 years old)...I've since watched it again, and yeah, great stuff. I also LOVE Versus, just for a different taste of zombie film, great fight scenes and stunt coreography, interesting/weird storyline, pretty decent amosphere, and a cool soundtrack. And to this day I STILL consider it more of a zombie film, "Mister Vampire"...fucking hilarious, brilliant stunts. |
