Zombie for me
|
I've only seen Zombie. When I see the rest of his films, I'll let you know.
|
From the horror side of Lucio Fulci's creations:
the Beyond City of the Living Dead From the giallo side: Murder to the Tune of the Seven Black Notes (To me, one of his best giallo films.) Beatrice Cenci (Quite impressive. Lucio Fulci could almost have been ahead of his time with the way the film was edited.) |
i have to admit i'm not a big fan of Fulci. I keep buying the movies to see if my perception will change - but nothing so far ..
everything always looks so cheap - compared to Argento (who i do like) I prefer Soavi to Fulci too... |
Zombie was my favorite, I liked New York Ripper though...
|
The Beyond
The New York Ripper Don't Torture A Duckling |
Argento
The whole reason for purchasing dvds for me is to see horror films that I haven't yet. Not all of them are gems, but its worth it to know the bad as well as the good.
I saw "Demons" in 1985 in the theater. If I remember correctly, there is a scene where a full-size demon climbs out of the back of a chick. It was a pretty cool effect at the time (and original) Anyway, couldn't have been any worse than "I spit on your grave":) |

Fulci is almost as over-rated as Phantasm. I hate sitting through his slow paced, boring movies just to get to one or two scenes of mediocre gore. |
To be fair though, Zombi 3 has some of THE funniest dubbing I've ever heard. The scene where the soldiers are following the bus full of girls is priceless.
