I'm trying to stay healthy by eating that high protein and low sugar/carb shit. I haven't had anything but meat and veggies. I want some taters! Right now! Right fucking now!

There's diabetes in my family, and I'm the person that will be unlucky enough to get it this generation if I'm not careful.

i cook with mostly low fat or no fat ingredients and keep the number of veggies up and the portions medium. I lost 10 lbs and Bree lost 15 this way (before the baby, of course)

I can make some suggestions if you want.

Let me know what kind of food you like.

I lost 30 lbs that way, the first 2 weeks were fuckin' brutal.

How many ways can you make chicken??? Enough already, but I do feel pretty damn good.

Every now and then I have some carbs. Its like heaven, mostly whole grain stuff.

I have the same problem. My Grandmother and all of her siblings are diabetic, and you know the whole every other generation thing...it has already got to my 15 year old cousin.
But I don't think the low carb thing is the way to go as far as health goes. Sure its good for temporary weight loss, I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks on Atkins, but I was miserable. My sugar dropped, I was weak and tired all the time. I saw "floaters". My potassium dropped, I would wake up every night with these killer leg cramps because of that. I know that is one thing they warn you about in the book, but this pain was just fucked up. I think you should talk to your doctor about the low carb thing. LowERED carb is always good if you're used to eating a lot of sugar and are at risk of diabetes, but my Grandmother says a good balance is best.

Yeah, I know my momma had bad issues. She allowed herself to be raised by my dad (they met when she was 12) and now she's weird about her men. She really isn't a shitty person, she just does shitty things. Sometimes I really do believe she doesn't know any better. She's clinically depressed and suicadal, I think most of this is because she never had the chance to grow up...but I'm no doctor, so I dunno. Although I love her and worry about her, I know it would do me much good to get away from her. I did once, haha...I lived with my Grandparents for a long time, then I moved out on my own 2 years ago. Last November she moved in right next door.

I eat low carb not no carb, I was on South Beach, the first 2 weeks is no carb, it was fuckin brutal (I know I said this already) I eat some carbs but not like I used to. After 3 days on it I was crashing at night so hard it wasnt funny, and I am very active.


I try to stay away from garbage, I have an OREO weakness that is killer.

just balance your food.. geez. I don't see why people have to cut out certain foods. Its really not good for you. If you really want to be healthy then eat tons of raw vegies and fruits, cut out meat and remeber to get in some grains. We all know refined sugars are bad and where introduced into our diet by 'the man'. The human body doesn't really digest meat or dairy. You need the grains to clean that shit from your body. We have the teeth, not the enzymes. Personaly, last year I gave up refined sugars for lent, thats 40 days of 'fasting' and I too lost 20 pounds. I eat pretty good though. I like veggies. And now Im hungry.
