i found the guys who were more meek to be far more effective than a guy who already looked like a killer.

playing against type is always way more interesting.

I fucking love "The warriors"!

"MTV Productions is producing a remake of The Warriors in conjunction with Paramount. Tony Scott is directing, and the movie is believed to have no guns with a focus on martial arts and street fighting. The movie is expected to be released in 2006. It won't be an actual "remake" of the 1979 film. Instead, it's going to be an updated version, probably set in the present day. From what I've heard they want to make a Matrix like Kung Fu movie and not a dedicated remake. So for all of you who were hoping that it would be set in 1979 NYC, sorry. The general theme and some of the names may stay intact but overall it's probably going to be completely different"

Also they are making a Warriors video game

CAN YOU DIG IT!

i agree and understand....but when the content is gritty, like a horror or action flik i like the actors to look like they been through a couple scrapes...besides, most of the dudes i mentioned were good actors...except for robert zdar.....he just had a freakishly over-sized jaw.

And that Orphan's leader is weird looking.
I always thought he sounded like a speech impediment havin' whiny little bitch when he says
"You SEEEEE what you get, warriors...YOU SEE what you get?"

Yep it's Bennett from Commando.

Tony Scott doing the remake? Fuck I dunno about that.... hopefully it won't have as many bizzare homosexual overtones as Top Gun. I liked The Last Boyscout tho that was a really good movie and quite grittty for a big budget shoot em up.

this movie DID garner a lot of attention when it was released.
Being an older guy, i saw it in the theatres...
At the time in the major cities - gang fights would break out in the theatres - because naturally being about gangs, gangs went to see it.

hard to believe that the tough ass lead protagonist went on to be the lead in Xanadu after this :D

the only other movie i knew to have an effect like this was American Grafitti ...
When i was a kid we used to ride out bikes to the drive in and sneak in through a hole we snipped in the fence.
I saw american grafitti this way and i'll never forget all the cars leaving the theatre, drag racing off in every direction ..

well, i guess Jaws had a similar impact .. as far as scaring people out of the ocean.

Same here, I was a Junior in college when it came out in theaters. I actually liked it. I thought it was funny as hell in the end when the Warriors make it back to the beach and the Gramercy Riffs show up to finish those other guys off and some of them are carrying hockey sticks. wtf are inner city black gang members doing with hockey sticks??? :D I have this film on vhs with the original cover box....
