Not horrible for what it was. Stayed true to the original as far as acting and gore went.

Poseiden...

Not terrible, but not very good either. Most of it was great build up to really anti-climactic "payoff"

But at least i got to see fergie from the black eyed peas bite it.

i liked it far more than i thought i would..

i though the action and outcome were very realistic ..

i know that's not what most people want these days - but i appreciate it.

russells 'last scene' gave me the willies too

the 5th Element

one of those movies that gets better every time you see it.

i think though - someone should do what they did with The Star Wars movie - re-editing it to remove jar jar binks .. and do the same thing to 5th element and remove chris tucker.

Both pretty good movies.

28 Days Later is alot better of course, but I enjoyed both.

Cybernator

Ahhhhh Troma! It's always very hit or miss when dealing with an exceptionally cheesy movie, but every once in a while you do find a gem. This was one of those instances I thought. What a delightfully cheesy piece of sci-fi cyborg horror crap! I was enjoying every minute of it despite the bad script, hokey FX, terrible acting and very low budget. If you like 'B' Science fiction movies, you'll have fun with this one.

Die Hard

Yeah! Die Hard kicks ass! I've always appreciated how it takes about 20 minutes to set up the characters and then spends the next 65 minutes killing terrorists in imaginative ways. This is, and probably always will be, one of my favorite action movies. John McClane is just a cool character, period. I can't wait for Die Hard 4, which is in the works (I hear it may be getting released as 'Live Free or Die Hard'.) Good story, good action, good direction, good violence... There isn't really anything negative for me to say about this movie...

A- is a great grade from me as I am generally very stingy with A's. I think I have only given 1 A in the past year (Original TCM). I reserve the top grade for very exceptional films. Anything I list as an A- is an really awesome movie, just not quite in the 'work of art' range.

I see, very good.

I haven't seen Die Hard yet...this makes me want to see it bad.

My weekend list:

- Horror Express

- Die Hard

bwind22 10-07-2006 04:00 PM

I explained that wrong. I reserve A+ for the work of art type movies and that is what I've only given 1 of in the past year. A & A- are both still excellent films but they just quite aren't there at that higher pedestal. I think I gave this one an A- simply for the fact that there are a handful of better action films out there that aren't masterpieces and they will need a place to go if that makes sense.

Here's all the A's I've given out....

A+

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)

A

A Bronx Tale
Band of Brothers (Mini-Series)
Dog Soldiers
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Made
Shallow Grave
Snatch
Team America: World Police

A-

Army of Darkness
Bad Taste
Batman Begins
Cinderella Man
The Devil's Rejects
Die Hard
Elf
Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn
Ginger Snaps
Happy Gilmore
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Metropolis
Return of the Living Dead
Rosemary's Baby
Saw 2
Super Troopers
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Wolf Creek
Wrong Turn
