Sat down to watch this thinking I would hate it, but surprisingly I liked it despite myself. Sure its a remake, but a well-done one. Keifer Sutherland is very convincing and carries the movie throughout, and apart from the climax and ending (which would make your eyes roll), the flick is actually pretty good. Some of the scenes make one cringe, and one particular nasty death scene will make you really squirm in your seat. Aja does a really decent job of building things pretty nicely (ala High Tension), but the final moments make things slip downhill. But still, all in all, one of the better Asian movie-remakes I have seen in awhile.

Watch it if you can see beyond the final 15-or so minutes. If you have seen the original Asian flick, skip this.

I actually like both of those despite popular opinion. What do you think of 'em?

Not necessarily.

I watched the asian one years before the american and i liked the remake much more. Lot of the story is much different in the remake, so i believe it's possible to get something out of both.
