Half of The Wild Geese.

The Mothman 07-10-2009 09:24 PM

Ninja III: The Domination
highly enjoyable action flick. tons of ass kicking and a huge body count, not to mention an absolutely hilarious 80's workout scene.

Anvil: The Story Of Anvil
A really powerful and rather sad documentary. highly reccomended.

This is the first time a movie has really scared me. i've been upset/disturbed by modern horror movies, but it took a gem from the 80's with virtually no gore to make me afraid toget out from under the covers.

Cool! Few months back I bought the dvd from e-bay but still haven't give it a watch.:o I know this kinda sounds weird but I always prefer some kinda 'special day/weekend/holiday' to see well known great films (mainly Horror) like this one. :)

The Asphyx (1973)

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3...phyxposter.gif

A pretty original and decent English Gothic horror film. Set in 1870's England, aristocrat Sir Hugo (Robert Stephens) accidentally photographs an entity (mythological name Asphyx) entering a person's body at their death. Sir Hugo theorizes that each person has their own Asphyx and that if the entity can be imprisoned outside the body, the person will be immortal!

Tower of Evil (British ttle: Mystery of Snape Island)

Horrible doings on a desolate isle off the coast of England. Very cheesey and lots of fun. Plenty of 70s style gore and Newb- every female character appears nude. (It was the 70s)

This wasn't on demand- it was on TCM.

Ice Age 3 (3D)

more crap.

the 3D looked good .. the animation looked good .... but the story and desperately frantic pace ruined this one ..again.

I guess they didnt learn shit from ice age 2

Shiver (Eskalofrío) - A nice Spanish thriller about a young man suffering from photophobia. Him and his mother move to a village in the mountains where the days are shorter, but as soon as they do, murders start up and guess who they blame. I liked the film but I felt that the twist came too early and after it, the movie became less and less suspenseful.

Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead

I'm not sure why it was a musical for the first 20 or so, but I didn't mind either, the songs were o.k and somewhat humerous... But then it turned into one of the most awesome movies I have seen in some time. Utter gratuitous gore, tits and Zombie chickens.... I laughed more than I have in a horror movie for some time.

8.5/10

Terror Firmer

I watched the uncut version, I thought it was far to long and with better editing it could have been a clasic gore/shock masterpiece. But over all, there was to much going on and to many different elements messing things up.

5.5/10

The Funhouse - A complete waste of time. I am shocked that Tobe Hooper directed this. It was horribly acted, uninteresting, boring, and not even remotely scary nor shocking. I only recommend this film to people who are a fan of BAD eighties horror.
