"Splinter" 2/10

(Thanks to V's Horror 2000 tournery)

Someone kill the camera man!!!

I'm starting to see a new trend in low budget american horror movies. First in "The Children", then in "Alien Raiders" and now in "Splinter".

It goes like this: If you don't have good enough effects, just throw around the camera or blur the vision as soon as something is happening to trick the audience so they will never see how lousy your effects are. Sure they will appreciate that a whole lot more.

Well, FUCK YOU!!!

IT FUCKING RUINS THE ENTIRE MOVIE, YOU DICKS!!!

I'M GOING TO BED!!!

BYE!!!!

Got to watch most of The Dark Knight at work today, which was pretty sweet.

I'm not quite sure of the logic behind it, but one of the other departments where I work has a huge TV set up at the end of the office. It's always muted (obviously - I work in a call centre), but they usually have shitty daytime television playing on it at all times, and it's usually positioned so I can't see it from my desk anyway. No huge loss.

Welll, today they had it facing the opposite way for some reason - and God bless 'em, somebody decided to throw in Dark Knight. Now keep in mind this is about half a football field away, on mute, and I was too busy to really pay attention... but damn - catching glimpses of the Clown Prince of Crime between calls sure takes a chunk out of the monotony of the day.

What'd you think of Missing In Action?

Yeah check out Brain Dead when you get a chance. its kinda like a dream inside a dream inside a dream and so on.
Missing In Action was pretty sweet. I knew I had to see it after seeing this scene online - classic

Easily the best film of the summer, made me want to go buy some cotton slacks.

I had the exact same feeling too after the film ended.

And glad to see you liked it too, Des. After Alky and Return's reactions, I thought I might be the only one who actually loved the film. :)

Galaxy Of Terror

Classic stuff. Pretty funny to see Joanie from Happy Days in it :D

The sequel where Norris is in a POW camp is pretty cool too.

The Enforcer isn't to bad but is prolly my least favorite Dirty Harry flick.

Did those discs I sent turn up yet?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986)

Watched for the first time. It was fun but not as good as I expected.
