Control

I thought it was really good. Ray Liotta plays a heartless murderer who is given a drug to supress his violent urges. That's pretty much all I can say without spoiling anything.

My single complaint is that it was 90 minutes long and is actually one of the few movies that would have seriously been better if they added another 30.

16 Blocks.

Chalk up another great movie for Bruce Willis' resume. He plays burnt out old guy so well...

Plus David Morse and Mos Def were great.

I agree that the movie was good....but Mos Def's voice irritated
the hell out of me.

Did he not sound like "Handi-man" from in living color?

jesus christ as horror fans we've been asked to suspend our disbelief more than any other breed of film fan ..

its so rare we get anything close to well acted - i just can't complain about something the quality of haute tension because of a goofy plot device..

Great point!! The plot (the end) was obviously far fetched but what horror movie isn't??? I still think it's one of the better movies I have seen in a while!

Creepshow 2

Cleared a lot of the movies my dad was telling me I should see. He didn't know what the movies were though.

8/10

daddys boy, ha

Watching season 4 of scrubs at the moment, 6 has just started screening here I think, but I never manage to catch it...thus far, seems ok.

Just got done watching 24 season 4. Show's watchable as always, didn't quite like this season as much as I had prior.
S5 Looks better, I'll grab that next.

no i'd definately want to see it as a period piece .. an homage to bradbury.

someone who has the love and respect for bradbury the way jackson had for king kong.

Those are great to watch back to back. 'Hellbound' really is a great sequel.

I agree. On a side note: I bought The hellraiser I/II Double edition a while back and it was like 14 dollars, they wanted 17 for just the first one and I don't think there was anything interesting about it!!! I just figured I would say that.

I bought the same version. Great little set.

alkytrio666 09-29-2006 06:17 PM

I'm having a little double feature with my dad.

We just watched The Sentinel (2006). I was impressed. Good flick, good performances.

I agree Hellraiser 1 & 2 are great! Watched them back to back. Was going to have a marathon, but the Hellraiser 3 DVD that I rented was scratched :( They finally got one in again, going to try and grab it tomorrow.

Crank tonight. Probably something else too, but I'll see when I get there.

The 3rd one is nothing special, especially if you liked the first two.

Shaun of the Dead

My first time watching it...I liked it, but was expecting better. I just didnt find it that funny...a decent zombie flick with a few good laughs, but not as funny as I was led to think.

I didn't like it at all. I thought it was dry as hell.

The Fast And The Furious Tokyo Drift

Didn't get into it at all.Very lousy film with crappy acting.

bwind22 09-30-2006 05:27 AM

The Dark Half

Well I liked the atmosphere & direction of this movie, and the acting was fine, but I just found the story to be kind of dumb. I'm not a real big fan of things appearing out of nowhere without a reasonable explanation and for the second half of this movie, that's what we're dealing with. It was alright and semi-entertaining but I think it could have been executed/explained better than it was.

C+

V for Vendetta

There was some cool fight scenes, but am I the only one who felt like this movie was preaching to them? I guess I just don't know that an action movie needs to include it's own sociological message. This also got a bit sappy in parts and seemed to think it was a far more important film than the run of the mill action flick it was.

Never heard of Dark City? Man, that's an awesome movie...not hard to find or anything, either. It's not horror, but I really reccomend checking it out.

Don't know about aunt rose, but this one's worth watching for sure...if you enjoyed the basic concept of the first matrix film, this is an interesting comparison. Similar, yet different.
IMO darker, more surreal, and of superior quality.
Not saying I hate on the matrix, but having seen dark city first, I couldn't help but draw similarities.
A good watch, for sure.

out of this world effects, especialy for its time, plenty of gore, good acting and brilliant directing. now THIS is a horror movie. i think it should be praised as one of the best ever made.
