Tech Questions

I have a couple of questions about some tech problems I've been having.

First off I have a vidoe camera that I would like to upload some videos off of.I bought it off a friend and I dont think he gave me the software in which to do it.Do I need a program to upload them or is there another way?

Secondly is there a good free photo editor I can get somewhere?Nothing to fancy.

What OS are you using?

You will need some capture software, but Windows Movie Maker will do that. It is not the best software (to say the least) but it will work. You may need a driver for the camera - which may be able to be found on the web (manufacturer's site).

Picasa by Google, or Irfanview allow you to do some simple editing.

GIMP will do more complex editing for free.

I found it easiest to go to the sight, figure out your model and just download the software. Its usually free.

When you say create digital video, do you mean importing it from a camera? Or creating animation from scratch?

If you mean importing from a camera and then editing, my suggestion would be (assuming you are using Windows) Adobe Premiere Elements.

This is a reasonably simple and cheap piece of video editing software. If you want something more complex, there is always Adobe Premiere (expensive but extremely powerful).

I use Premiere and you can do some amazing things, especially when coupled with some of the other Adobe packages (eg After Effects and Photoshop) for effects.

I'd go to download . com . Then I would search for what you want then read the reviews. I've had amazing luck with that website. The reviews always tell me what I need to know.

I've always used Sony Vegas - its very simple and gets the job done.

That's what I'd suggest. As far as getting videos off the camera you should be able to plug it in, pull the raw file off, and use a video converter to put it into whatever format you want to work with.
