Sars Wars: Bangkok Zombie Crisis

Bad cgi, bad acting, bad plot (ok so they all weren't bad just not what many would consider good)... I loved it.

When a cgi zombie baby rips through the stomach of his zombie mom and bites through his own umbilical cord only to jump around like crazy trying to kill you know you have something special. Wow, what a flick.

Star Wars (original theatrical version on DVD)

It was good to see it again the way it appeared originally. However it is disappointing that it wasn't an anamorphic transfer - it could have looked so much better. Not to mention, the subtitles when Greedo speaks would have been visible on the screen (they appear in the black bars, some of which are off frame when the image is stretched vertically to get the right ratio on a widescreen TV)

I did prefer the 2.0 stereo soundtrack to the 5.1 remastered track, so no complaints there.

It is disappointing that such an important film isn't given the care in presentation that it deserves. Sure, Lucas says that his efforts are concentrated on the remastered releases, but these can't have the same significance as the original (historical) versions.

The Legend of Hell House (1973)

I enjoyed this a lot. It maintained atmosphere throughout the film. Not quite up to the standard of The Haunting (1963), but great nonetheless.

The Wedding Singer. I love this movie.

George is great.

Excellent flick. Funny, perfectly-casted, and a damn good time.

I enjoyed the remake.... possibly because I don't remember the original. Season 1 are the best episodes of the X-Files I kinda lost interest after that.

Black Dahlia
It was an ok movie but I left dissapointed. Maybe it was the fact that I had built up and expectation that the movie simply couldn't live up to. Perhaps it was the fact that this movie had so much potential. Either way, in my eyes it failed to deliver what I had hoped for but it did have some redeeming qualities.

Its the tummy tuck kings best film apart from Heavenly Creatures.
I'm pretty sick of Bad Taste and Braindead especially because of what its done to NZ horror cinema. The only shit that gets green lighted is in the similar sort of humorous vein (Shaun of the Dead put the final nails in the coffin of that sort of flick for me). If you've ever seen The Ugly you can see the potential for a Maniac/Henry/Romper Stomper style flick. The industry over here is too scared to make shit like that. There more concerned with pimping our landscape and are worried people won't come here if a dark movie paints a bad picture of the country.

I had a bitch about Black Sheep awhiles back and I see thats just been to the Toronto film festival while so many good projects got rejected or had little or no distribution.

Its fucking embarrassing to me :(

How was it? I had the chance to see it once, but decided against it because it didn't look all that great.

See No Evil, The Blob & Headspace tonight. The Black Dahlia tomorrow night.

Fucking crazy movie...I loved it.

Gladiator. Say what you will about Russell Crowe....he was PERFECT in this film. He may be an asshole, but he's a great actor. And Joaquin Phoenix was an excellent bad guy.

Posher778 09-16-2006 12:55 PM

Final Destination 3

I like this better than the second one (excluding the beginning car crash scene of course)

I love the lead girl too.

Spoila'

My favorite kill is the car engine head thing

and I hate the tanning bed part.

The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane

Haven't see this one in a while, forgot what a wonderful character study it is. I know there are a lot of people on this site who wouldn't like it as there is no blood and very little action, but the story is original and suspenseful.

Newb, Alky, Miss Olivia, StygianWitch, Urge - this one's for you.

The Protector. worst piece of shit excuse for a movie I have ever seen. this is the first movie that had action non-stop throughout the entire thing that bored me to death. no plot whatsoever pretty much, pretty much impossible to understand whats going on, and finally....dudes on roller blades and bmx bikes fighting with flourescent light sticks......some of the most retarded scenes ive seen in a long time. the first movie ive actually walked out of before it ended. do not see it.
