All that work and end it w/ an alien/sci-fi Scanners duel ripoff. That was horrible. What truly killed it for me, though, was the end, which was an almost carbon copy of Harold Goldfarb's dream in Requiem for a Dream. i loved that scene (in Requiem) where Harold sees Marion standing at the end of the pier in a dress. What was Aronofsky thinking, borrowing this scene from Dark City and using it in Requiem, complete with the same actress (Jennifer Connelly)? WTF? Maybe a valium with a vodka chaser will make it all better. Ashe.

just out of curiousity, what would have made for a better ending while still remaining to be a logical one?

i think that the premise of the ending was fine, but the way it was played out just reeked of Scanners. i just think the the direction could have given it a different feel and appearance. The movie, to me at least, had a pretty fresh look to it up to that point, and then BAM! =>Scanners intense consternation face-off. i agree, though, that that was the most plausible premise for the ending. The Soloist

Foxx and Downey Jr. both give very good performances, but beyond that this one isn't anything new or exciting. Worth a watch if you're a big fan of either of the leads, but otherwise it's nothing special.

Brotherhood of Blood

Even Sid Haig & Ken Foree, both horribly miscast as vampires can't save this turkey.

From Dusk Til Dawn 2. Bruce Cambell's short cameo was the only good thing about it.

I've been meaning to watch that one again sometime. I think I'll dig it this time around. Have to pick myself up a copy.

After watching the annoying films like the above two, it was a great fun indeed. Decent effort.

Trainspotting, now I'm off to try and read it again. Accent's aren't too cool when written.

The book is definitely the winner for me with that one. I thought the film version was weak as fuck. The Acid House wasn't to bad in getting the feel of the book down.
