MEN DON'T TELL (1993)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SPOILERS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>. This TV movie is better than I thought it would be. It concerns Spousal abuse, only this time it's the Husband being used as a Punching bag and his wondering how He should report without looking like a Wuss. Peter Strauss is pretty good as the Hard working husband who has little family time, especially when his wife needs some attention and support. Judith Light, who was so Bubbly in TV's WHO'S THE BOSS is a loving wife, but when those frustrations boil over, she inflicts some serious damage. Worth seeing. *** |

Death Island: Paranormal Retribution
This is a found footage film about a search party going to an island off the Michigan coast where a group of campers is said to have disappeared without a trace back in 1999. There is not much original about this film, but it is entertaining, and it does manage to keep interest. The actors all did great jobs with their roles as well. There is one scene where a group of hicks come at them with guns, telling them to get out of there, with the leader saying that is state property, and they have every right to be there. He then states that those guys were not there before in 1999, and they "have to be cooking meth." I found that part to be funny, along with the whole team ending up missing, yet nobody even suspects the gunmen who were not seen or mentioned after that point may have had something to do with it. Again, it's not original, but it is entertaining with some funny and some interesting moments. Fans of the found footage sub-genre should enjoy this one. ::cool::

Absolute crap amateur-hour garbage. I watched it because Linnea Quigley is in it .. but it was just an embarrassing mess. Frankenfish This one surprised me - i actually had a lot of fun with this one. pretty decent monster effects .. good cast ..and smart score choices .. way better than most films of this ilk. |
House of 1000 corpses: Just saw the trailer and... is that... Dwight from The office? ::confused::::big grin::

I remember hearing some good things about a British movie with Robert Carlyle as a lone wolf terrorist sort of figure. But I cannot put my finger on the title.
Has anyone of you seen it? |

Hell or High Water (2016) Netflix
7/10 Two brothers Toby (Chris Pine), and Tanner (Ben Foster) rob banks to save the ranch. Meanwhile willy old Texas Ranger Marcus (Jeff Bridges) and his partner try to track them down. It's nice sleepy drama thriller. |

Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth The first ten minutes had two or three womp womp-moments and the rest was silly and goofy. Both the club massacre and seeing the douchebag club owner get his were fun moments and granted, the scene with the two cenobites trying to intimidate Joey was a bit scary. 6/10

Probably the first Tarantino film I've liked outside Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill. 8/10. |

American Zombieland
This is a schlock style comedy horror film that is meant to be stupid and campy looking but funny with over the top humor, and it is funny and entertaining in that sort of way. It begins with a beginning B horror film maker thinking he finally got into a big film festival, invites his friends and relatives over for a big party to celebrate, but after he actually reads the letter he got back from them, it not only said he got rejected, but they also said his film sucks so bad, he needs to give up film making, and go find something else, like ditch digging. After all of his friends and relatives arrive, wanting him to give them the official word, he loses his nerve to tell them he was wrong and isn't going anywhere, then lies and says they're going to Hollywood. The celebration gets wild until somebody finally picks the letter out of his pocket to read it themselves, then they announce the actual, showing off the letter. After that, hell breaks loose with everybody throwing and breaking things, ganging up on him and beating him up. After they knock him out, they write "loser" on his forehead. The next day, the town suddenly gets infected by real zombies, giving him the idea of shooting another zombie film with real zombies in found footage format. This is similar to a lot of the Troma movies from the 1980s and 1990s; along with Pot Zombies, Diary Of The Dead, and Safe Zone: The Making Of Safe Zone. The editing in this film is not the best, and ruined it for a lot of other viewers, but it still funny and entertaining on the most part, and should still be worth a look for one time to those into that type of film. ::devil::

Nothing new, but entertaining enough when the “fun” began. |
DARK ENCOUNTER 2019
"A year after the mysterious disappearance of an eight-year-old girl, we meet her grieving family as they return home from her memorial service in their small town. Later that evening, strange lights appear in the nearby forest." A slow pace but worth it. Bittersweet. |

Or with a Cinema Snob-line: Ugh, this is such a rip off of [Rec].

Yeah, the original Hellraiser was pretty straight horror and didn't break the forth wall. It had some satire of course, but not self-aware parody. Not too uncommon for sequels. I think of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 which jumped the ship and went to a weird dark humor parody of itself. |

It's still a bit of a relief. When someone asks that sort of stuff. I always tend to think I did something wrong for a minute. |
