That is an AWESOME graphic!!!!

Oh, but...umm...Shouldn't the pendant be a pentagram rather than a peace symbol?...Just kinda seems like it doesn't really go with the whole image...Makes him seem a little less 'evil'...Can't quite picture an evil hippy :D

I can MAKE it a pentagram if ya like ;)

It's an UPSIDE DOWN peace sign- check your mythology for meaning.... The peace sign itself was used in occult circles before the hippies appropriated it, BTW.

Would that mean that it's a symbol for war/chaos, as in anti-peace since it's upside down?

neverending 05-01-2009 06:57 PM

Ask the wolf- he's the one wearing it!

Papillon Noir 05-01-2009 06:59 PM

Well you're the one with all the pagan occult mythology know how...:p

HDC BATTLE ROYALE II - THE TENTH CHALLENGE

I welcome all surviving contestants to BR II Challenge #10.

Before we get into the Challenge, I wish to announce that this would be the last chance for you to grab plenty of HPs. From the next Challenge onwards, HPs would become harder to get, and the intensity of the weapons to be used in the Zone will get higher.

All of you have to find me the names of some weapons used in horror movies in this wordsearch puzzle :-

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...dsearch2-1.gif

There are upto 75 points per contestant up for grabs in the above challenge.

A BONUS prize will be given to the contestant who sends in the first entry with ALL the answers in it.

The deadline for sending your entries ends on Sunday, May 03rd, at Midnight EST.

You may either send me your entries via PMs, or you may email me at [email protected], mentioning your HDC Nick in the Subject alongwith the Challenge number, for example, "__V__ - HDC Battle Royale II Challenge #10 Answers."

Each Battle Royale participant should send in their own individual entries.

Also remember, YOUR FIRST ENTRY WILL BE COUNTED ONLY. Subsequent entries will NOT be entertained.

All the best, folks!!!

MEANWHILE...

***BATTLE ROYALE SPYCAM #33 LIVE FEED (1942 HRS - 2007 HRS)

As soon as the announcement broke out about the merger of both teams, all contestants gathered together and began to talk excitedly amongst themselves. Some of them formed a small group and talked in very hush-hush tones. Even PAPILLON NOIR, in her slightly wounded condition, joined in the chatter.

MURDERDOLL lay in her bunker, restlessly tossing and turning from side to side. She couldnt get any induced sleep from the shots given to her by the BR II Medics, and kept having fleeting images of the Slayers getting blasted to bits by the Snipers repeatedly.

A tall, shadowy figure entered the Knights compound from the left and slowly made its way towards the centre of the bunkers where Murderdoll lay. It stopped and hid beside another empty bunker, marked "Gorephobia", and took a long peek around the place. Nobody else was in sight. The figure then took out a small, silenced handgun from its coat and aimed straight at Murderdoll's head.

PSHT!!

The bullet tore through Murderdoll's head like a hot knife plunging through a watermelon, and blew her brains out. Murderdoll had her eyes open for a sudden second, and then it stayed that way as her breathing stopped.

MURDERDOLL IS DEAD!!!!!

roshiq 05-02-2009 02:16 AM

I noticed the pendant and thought about the Matthew Modine character from Full Metal Jacket, he had a peace symbol next 'Born to Kill' on his helmet. The whole duality of man (or wolf) bit.

I like NE's and Papillons anti-peace take on it though. Will go with that!

scouse mac 05-02-2009 05:39 AM

How many answers are there?

Broken Cross
also called a Neronic Cross or a Stipe

The Broken Cross has Pagan roots, being the inverse of the Pythagorean symbol for life and Teutonic rune of death, and is vogue with Wiccans and Satanists. It can represent the antithesis of all that Christianity stands for.

Some see breaking a cross as a way to protest against Christianity.

The Broken Cross has been called a Neronic Cross or Nero's Cross in recognition of Nero's attempt to suppress the rise of Christianity (see St. Peter's Cross).

I had to crawl through some dodgy religious sites for that snippet. As a fervent athiest, I like the anti-christianity aspect. :)

Doc Faustus 05-02-2009 07:52 AM

You could have also looked up divinatory runes, though.

Rayne 05-02-2009 08:47 AM

Jeez, okay...I get it...I'm stupid

I still like the pentagram better though :p :D

OH, I just wanted to add that when I was in Sunday school (a LONG time ago), we were told that the regular right-side up 'peace symbol' was an 'upside-down broken cross' which represented the denial of Christ in favor of nature...That was supposed to be how hippies were viewed, as Godless nature freaks...Just saying...

Doc Faustus 05-02-2009 09:17 AM

Weird. Once more the church drowns in its own illogic. If anything, inverting the broken cross indicates an appreciation of Christian values, or a rejection of Viking values. I've often felt that hippies and vikings would be natural enemies.

LEADERBOARD UPDATE

FOUR entries in so far.

I must say, some of you are pretty innovative at finding some unique answers, ergo those which arent the real ones. I have exclaimed "Whoa!" twice.

Doc Faustus 05-03-2009 08:37 AM

I saw a movie where a guy killed someone with a Qone a Fonit and a Zulgy.

***LIVE FEED - BATTLE ROYALE II CENTER CAM #67 (1737 Hrs - 1813 Hrs)***

All the contestants roamed around, poring over the latest Challenge. They were in smaller groups of twos now, while some sat alone, away from the rest.

MISSMACABRE walked aimlessly towards the closed sheds of the Battle Royale II compound. She was engrossed in the wordsearch puzzle so deeply that she failed to realise she was very near the forbidden areas of the compound. Just then, the container in front of her shook and made a noise, making her jump out of her thoughts. She was intrigued, and began to wonder about what kind of stuff the BR II unit keeps under lock and key in this area. Her curiosity got the better of her, and she walked forward to the nearest closed container.

A faint smell of burnt ammo hit her nostrils. She suddenly had a thought that maybe this was where all the weapons were kept. With a faint smile, she looked at the lock. It was a numbers-combination one. She tried a few combos but it didnt open. Then she put her ears to the lock, and slowly rotated the numbers one by one. After 6-7 minutes had passed, a sharp click and snap indicated that the lock was open. Excited, MissM opened it and unbolted the doors of the container.

Something inside stirred and made a sudden movement in the dark. Suddenly fearful of whatever thing was inside, MissM took out her hidden silenced gun quickly and peered in. That was her only mistake, and the final one.

The trio of red dots zoomed directly on her head, and stopped. MissM's eyes widened for a brief instant.

THRACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!

The plasma beam burned its way through MissM's head, leaving a gaping hole where once her forehead had been. MissM's eyes stayed widened, as she fell back without a murmur, all life signs snuffed out.

The Battle Royale II Containment Unit #12 came running to the spot seconds later, and hurriedly sealed off the doors of the container back again. Some of them looked at MissM's still body, and one of them grabbed at his radio.

MISSMACABRE IS DEAD!!!!!

How can the predator get you if you're not even in the hunting zone???

Also, I was wondering something...How many shots does it take to kill the predator, or can he not actually be killed but only injured?

She opted to drop out of the game, and wanted her death to be as dramatic as possible.

The Predator can be killed. Just one blast from the plasma cannon, if you are in the same sector he resides in.

Results of Battle Royale II - Challenge #10

I welcome all surviving contestants to your Tenth BATTLE ROYALE II results meeting.

Some of you are wordsearch demons, I must admit. You even found out the answers which were not included in the puzzle in the first place.

Anyway, I didnt receive even ONE All-Correct Entry this time around, so there will be no Bonus Prize winners for this Challenge. The best some of you managed was 14 correct, and I accepted one other answer which was not a part of the original answers. The rest stand rejected.

Here's the correct 15 :-

http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ch2answers.gif

I accepted "Saw", which was not initially a part of the correct set, but a pretty glaring and evident weapon.

Now let's see how you all fared, in the Scoreboard...

Diablo Slayers :

Bwind22 - 70 points
Chronogrl - 75 points
Despare - 50 points
Dude Guadalupe - 75 points
Fortunato - 00 points (***NO ENTRY SUBMITTED***)
Freak - 50 points
milktoaste - 75 points
Nightmare of Death - 65 points
Papillon Noir - 75 points
Paul the Monk - 70 points
Posher778 - 75 points
Scouse Mac - 75 points

Now...everyone must be wondering how the Hunt will work this time around.

Its pretty simple.

The first SIX top scorers of the Challenge will be hunting down the rest who either didnt score full points, or who sent in their PMs late (in the order in which I received them). Fortunately in this case, we have SIX clear winners of the Challenge.

So... - CHRONOGRL, DUDE GUADALUPE, MILKTOASTE, PAPILLON NOIR, POSHER778 & SCOUSE MAC - saddle up for the Hunt.

Details of which follows...NEXT!!!

_____V_____ 05-04-2009 12:43 AM

BUT...HOLD IT!!!

The PREDATOR lurks in The Zone too! Which is divided into TWO sectors - A & B.

Clearly mention in your PM in which sector of the Zone you will be in when doing your hunting. IF you do not choose a sector, you will be an automatic target for THE PREDATOR!

(Dude, you have to additionally mention if you are firing your Plasma Cannon - remember, you have TWO shots still left from it, before it becomes useless)

Send me your PMs with your choices of target(s).

You have till Tuesday, 05th May, Noon EST, to make your choices.

The failure to fire even ONE Shotgun will mean each one of you Winners will be shot TWELVE TIMES by the Battle Royale snipers in the watchtowers.
