Scarlet Street (1945)

Wow...what a movie. Went in knowing nothing about it, and with no expectations whatsoever - might be why I enjoyed it so much.

The script creates a wonderfully tangled plot, and Fritz Lang's skilled direction keeps everything just barely under control. Robinson gives a brilliant performance, as do the supporting cast.

The only real flaw was in the ending...it ended well, but just kept on going. Made damn sure to drive the point home, to the point where they easily could have shaved off 10 minutes near the end.

Still, great movie - if you enjoy film noir, take a look.

Friday the 13th- The Original.

When I was a kid we knew Betsy Palmer as a glamorous panelist on TV quiz shows. I still get a kick out of watching her beat the crap out of a camp councellor. Great movie.
