The Last House on the Left (2009) - Kind of.

Went to see this with a bunch of friends...most of them fucking hated it and left after like half an hour. I wasn't overly impressed either...I normally would have stuck around to see how things turned out, but it wasn't nearly good enough to stick around after my ride peeled, haha.

Instead, we all went to my place and watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog :D .

Max Payne

It was.......ok

race to witch mountain.

fun flick - more emphasis on action than comedy (i was expecting the latter given the lead)

A huge improvement on the origional - which despite what the purists may think - wasnt gold.

Eden Lake

That was a lot better than I expected, one of the more gritty and realist horror movies I have seen for a while. We were planning a camping trip this summer, now my girlfriend is not so big on the idea....

8/10

Synechdoche, New York

A sprawling, epic ode to whiney, hypochondriacal, pretentious, emotionally detached dickheads everywhere. It plays out not as genius, but as a string of heartless gimmicks which left me cold.

Charlie Kaufman's writing is best left to other directors. I found this to be his weakest film to date... which is still better than most films by nature of it's sheer audacity.

6.5/10

Never much liked Charlie Kaufman, with exception of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.

Well, here's a tip...

[SPOILERS]

If backwoods kids start to fuck with you, don't go back. AND don't follow them to their house... JUST GO AWAY.

...

I thought that that was the weakest part of the film; why the HELL would they go back the next day if those kids popped their tires. I would say Rednecks 1, Chrono 0, let's go to a fucking hotel.

[/SPOILERS]

...

Eden Lake: 2/5

I was really disappointed. Some intense moments, but the characters continued to make poor decisions time and time again.

Wasn't a huge fan.

Watchmen

Unfamiliar with the graphic novel so had no idea what to expect. Bleak and apocalyptic were not at the forefront of my expectations. Very impressive film, didnt feel nearly three hours long which is certainly a good thing.
