Copycat (1995)
>>: B- Mum & Dad (2008) http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/images/s...008_poster.jpg Synopsis: When Lena, a young Polish office cleaner at the Heathrow airport, is befriended by Birdie & Elbie, her co-workers, she gets drawn into a nightmarish world of torture, murder and perversity. Imprisoned in a suburban House of Horrors and designated a 'Mummy's Girl', Lena's only options appear to be to become part of the family - and join them in their insanity - or die. A new entry to the British torture-survival horror genre which was about a sick family kind of the Hewitts form TCM. Not bad or not so good either. Worth a watch at least. >>: B- JCVD (2008) Wow! All I can say that it was like Van Damme's The Wrestler or Gran Torino! Though there were very few (or no!) fight scenes but it's a must see for all Van Damme fans! >>: A- |

Heard so much about it...and I can see why people like it, but just not for me. |
Doubt
-Hoffman and Streep just tore this one up in the best way. However, the best, albeit shortest performance came from Viola Davis' supporting role, that she's rightfully been nominated for. Amy Adams did well too. Great display of acting here. 8/10 |

The Local Stigmatic
Another great Pacino performance in a very underlooked short film. I'm not going to claim that I understand it after first viewing...it's a very ambiguous film. Still: great dialogue and brilliant performances by both Pacino and Paul Guilfoyle. |
Amarcord (1973)
Wonderful, sprawling, carnival-like childhood reminiscence told through a series of episodes. Fellini remembers not in concrete memories, but more like caricatures of memories, making it fantastical and comical, and strangely engrossing. Great stuff. |
Shurayukihime (Lady Snowblood) (1973)
Ah, still one of my favorites. It never gets old. |

There's an R1 set out over here that's pretty nice, except for some reason it's missing the second film in the series (Female Convict Scorpion: Jailhouse 41, which can be bought separately). I've been meaning to pick those up for quite some time now. Excellent stuff, though. Meiko Kaji's great. |
