Yes, horror is porn to me.... only reason why I find you attractive, weird Danish man. :p But call me French again, and....

Last watched: Planet of the Apes - Far better than that crap Tim Burton felt compelled to make.

"Head of state" 3/10

The humor sucks. Chris Rock sucks. But damn..... a well spoken black nobody running for president against a white jack ass. And this movie is from 2003.

Hallelujah

Two movies yesterday.

Stranger than fiction - I think this is easily WF's best film...not a whacky kind of comedy, hell I'm not even sure if the overall idea of this film WAS comedy...seemed to steer a lot towards drama, but in a good way. Had this whole melancholy type vibe to it I found, most of the characters seemed to have something missing in their lives, was a bit sad that way. But seriously, very good film...and I loved how it wrapped up, even though the "intended" finish never came to fruition. Great cast, and Hoffman as per usual killed without trying.

Phantasm 4.
So now I've seen them all over a couple months.
1 = good, 2 = better, probably my favourite, 3 = pretty fun and crazy still good even if not as much so as the second.
4...
Boring. Unresolved. I mean the one interesting part (the "past" tall man) wasn't even explored? Lets run away but talk about how it would've been a good idea to "change" him, then never do it?
Reg meets ANOTHER girl, another fucked up girl. sphere tits. wow.
I kind of expected it to pick up when I saw the multiple dimension gates, I saw possibilities to go throughout the timespan of the tallman to at very least get a complete idea of origin, but no...lets just blow a car up...
I'd still buy the box set, but this film is no good.
Here's hoping if the rumoured #5 ever happens they'll work hard to redeem things, and to actually get some kind've resolution.

Agreed. Great movie.

Been watching these "Fear Itself" episodes on FEARnet....and actually enjoying them a bit more than Masters of Horror, actually.

It seems all the MoH are just about "Where can I put tits in here" and strange script choices that make me wonder what the hell the directors were thinking. I think Fear Itself comes off as a little more cohesive. I don't know if its just the scripts or if the casts are better or what.

So far I've watched the "Skin and Bones" one about the Wendigo...I was surprised that it actually had a couple chilling moments in it. Some bad acting here and there, but overall very entertaining.

Then I watched the "New Year's Day" about the zombie apocalypse. This one was rather irritating because Darren Lynn Bousman went a LITTLE bit TOO "Saw" with the directing. Lots of jittery shakey cam crap that was really distracting. The ending of the episode was kind of cool though.

Finally, I watched "Family Man" by Ronny Yu (and I actually enjoyed Bride of Chucky and FvJ...fun flicks). Probably the best one out of the 3, so far. The story was very "Tales from the Crypt-ish" and I liked that. Pretty bleak ending too, but not in that Wolf Creek kind of way that makes you sad....more in that "Ouch, that's pretty fucked up" kind of way.

Overall.....not bad! I'll definitely watch the rest.

Stand By Me (1986) - 9/10.

Excellent flick, and easily one of my favourite Stephen King adaptations.

The Wrestler (2008) - 4.5/5

This is the kind of movie you could just keep on watching forever. The story- or, more appropriately, the experience- is so naturalistic in form and genuine in heart that there seems to be no barrier between this man, his demons, his passion and us. Indeed this is Mickey Rourke as he should have always been, and it's just as exhilerating to watch him ressurect his career as it is to watch Randy step into the ring. Arnofsky is invasive but not rough in his documentary-style look into this life, and there is something within the wrestler himself which always makes us feel like we should be there right beside him, through the rough times and the beautiful ones.

I saw Revolutionary Road again to make sure I wasn't crazy. Turns out I'm not. Still the best movie of 2008.

Cemetary Man.
Interesting, funny in parts, but overall felt a little pointless.
Maybe worth a watch for those that like "weird"
