"The Maniac"......Joe Spinneli playing the bad guy...maybe he is not quit up to it...maybe his part is a little to big for him....but overall a entertaining slasher....good extras on the dvd :)

Good solid nasty Trash! let down only by the silly sub-plot with Caroline Munro. Like she would have anything to do with him!

GREAT DVD. The extras are top quality.

Agreed! How the sequels to such a GREAT original were botched so badly is a real mystery!

good God almighty, that's just wrong. I'd rather see corey haim, at least he's a 80's wash up that could act a little.(at least he could in Silver Bullet)

42ndStreetFreak 02-16-2005 01:31 PM

The only footage that exists of "Maniac 2" is basically what you see on the DVD.
It was never finished and never will be.

I don't know, I was just asking since there's so many remakes out there.

I thought it was pretty funny, I might look for it next time I'm out or is it worth it? I haven't seen it in years so the only thing I remember is that it had a few laughs in it.

zwoti 02-16-2005 02:39 PM

very enjoyable......been a few years since id seen it

42ndStreetFreak 02-16-2005 02:44 PM

I remember when I found out that Ice-T was going to be on Law and Order, I didn't think he'd do that well but I think he's a pretty good actor.

i just watched the omega man with charlton heston...it was my first time....i never saw last man on earth....i have a copy of i am legend but never cracked it open....apparently omega man was never taken seriously by critics...im guessing cause of its many 70s references...sign of the times...i liked it...except for the bad guys...i think in i am legend they're vampires?....anyhow i dig apocalypse type movies.....i loved the quiet earth...last day on earth...miracle mile....but this was much different....kinda funky...there was the racial thing here too....better than soilent green i thought..

miracle mile is one of my favorite movies - terrific film.

Hannibal... Your job is to craft my doom, so I am not sure how well I should wish you. But I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun. Ta-ta, "H."

AUSTIN316426808 02-17-2005 04:28 AM

Memento

besides L.A. Confidential I never really thought to much of Guy Pearce but I have to admit he was great, this is definately one of the best films I've ever seen.

correct....they wanted to make a teaser to raise money for the film...They wanted to call it Mr Robbie, Maniac 2...I dont think Lustig wanted anything to do with the project...buy then Spinneli was a drug addict and an asshole....

slasherman 02-17-2005 04:38 AM

"The Faculty" a good clone of "Invation of the Bodysnatchers"...very comic in its style...
"Alligator" a classic monster movie :)

Play Misty For Me

Another good one from Mr. Eastwood. Fatal Attraction is nothing more than a copy.

Have you seen "Ravenous"? A cannibal movie starring Guy Pearce & Robert Carlyle.

I thought it was pretty damn good.:)

Vodstok 02-17-2005 09:59 AM

Ravenous was good.

I love Clint... play misty for me and tightrope were good, but i am a die hard dirty harry fan.

have you seen Million DB or are you not that much into drama?

Vodstok 02-17-2005 10:06 AM

I like drama, but my attention span is a bit short to watch them on a regular basis. If something isnt blowing up or getting shot, i tend to drift...

only saw a little bit, caught it on the Sci-fi channel(don't know what's sci-fi about it) awhile back but had to run off in the middle.

Vodstok 02-17-2005 10:10 AM

Sci-fi channel is basically a nerd channel. it is for sci-fi, fantasy and horror.

in that case don't even worry about MDB, it's 2 and a 1/2 hours and besides the boxing there isn't much action. The last 40 minutes is just completely and utterly SAD. but Hilary Swank sure is something to look at.:D

Vodstok 02-17-2005 10:14 AM

It's got to be better than Mystic River.... That movie was an ass burner and just kind of retarded. Great acting though.
