I really don't know what's in it yet...it was an impulse buy.....I figured it's Hitchcock so it can't all be bad....

Nice, very nice.

Tell me what it has when you find out. Hopefully it has the obvious good ones (Rear Window, Psycho, North by Northwest, Vertigo, Notorious) and some of his less famous, but equally good (Rope, Dial "M" for Murder, Sabatour, Suspicion)

Let me know!

Went to Wal-Mart today and picked up The Muppets Take Manhattan and Creepshow from the $5.50 bin. Egad, I love that bin!

Anyway, I have yet to see Creepshow...any good? I've heard some good things about it, and I figured $5.50 for a Romero/King combo wasn't a bad move at all.

unfortunately a lot of these cheapo hitchcock boxsets you see lately have really old stuff ... before he was a name (manxman, farmers daughter ... etc ... and the 39 steps ... all the public domain stuff...

hopefully he didnt get that - but if it was cheap - what the hell .. i guess it's interesting as a history lesson.

-Mr. & Mrs. Smith (that's right it's a remake but it's different, the recent one is action/comedy, Hitchcock's is romantic comedy)

-Suspicion
-Dial M for Murder
-The Manxman
-Saboteur

p.s.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith wasn't in the box set.

I've seen all of those except The Manxman...I loved Dial M, Saboteur was pretty good. But I never really liked Suspicion. I felt like Hitchcock built this great plot up and up through the whole movie and then just dropped it a little to quickly at the end.

Well, I stopped after Child's Play 3...I only really liked Child's Play 2. But I'm going to check out 'Bride' now.

But from what I've seen of the Chucky series, the Amityville series is much better.

Thats a great set. #2 sucked, but #3 is actually pretty good. And the bonus disc is pretty interesting, too. I bought it the day after it came out :D

This is the exact reason I only order things when I really want it, I ordered High Tension like 3 days ago and just got it today and I think that's the first time I've ordered something online this year because I got screwed twice December of last year.

Meh

Im not in m,uch of a hurry or anything, I was just looking forward to watching it tonight.

Oh well, Im off to watch....something. Not sure what yet:)

hebgbzz 07-01-2005 08:32 AM

All good movies. How did you like Black Christmas? The obscene phone calls are, well, sooo obscene! Great movie.

BH14 07-01-2005 09:37 AM

The Machinist= 10/10
Black Christmas= 7.5/10<---i expected more killings and would like to have a better ending.
Candyman= 8.5/10
Phantasm= havent watch it yet except for long long time ago....

I bought "The Eye" as well and I reallly enjoyed that movie... Great plot, lot of creepy parts and nice twist at the end.... That gets a 9.5/10. Its not a complete bite off of Sixth Sense as I read somewhere... Its part sixth sense/stir of echoes/ the gift.... Great movie and I highly recommend it.

bwind22 07-01-2005 11:13 AM

Machinist huh? I just saw that at the video store yesterday and thought about renting it, but maybe I'll wait until I see how you grade Phantasm before taking your opinion. ;)

"Treasure of the Amazon"
"French Sex Murders"
"Chisum"
"Team America" - Unrated

Elvis_Christ 07-01-2005 05:16 PM

^^ What's the deal with French Sex Murders? Don't think I've heard of it.

After a couple of weeks of fucking about waiting for people to send them some packages arrived today containing:

VHS:
The Lost Boys
The Blob
Critters 2
Gremlins
Re-Animator 2
Necronomicon
Alien Nation
Porky's Revenge
The Abyss
Xtro
Demon Knight
Hellraiser: Bloodline
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation

People always tend to take ages to send me stuff especially if its cheap most of these were brought for a $1 or less. I think I'll just start buying of the one chick now as she always has good prices and is reliable. She's been selling off a large collection of VHS over the last couple of months.

42ndStreetFreak 07-01-2005 05:22 PM

"French" is a gory 'Giallo' psycho killer type effort. Read good things...we shall see.

"Jaws" - 3oth Anniversary.

Elvis_Christ 07-01-2005 05:26 PM

Should be interesting. You'll have to let me know if its good.
