.... the film works like a fairy tale, and though the story is magical and charming when it comes together, it isn't relatable. For what it is, though, the film succeeds; it has a pulse, relaying its story with never a dull moment or an unnecessary one. Original, and certainly one of the year's best.

Definitely but as far my little lovely experience with Indian films (I'm not saying that SDM is an Indian film; just according to the premise of the story/film) I think in India there have already been a lot of great movies made (as more or less covered the same premise of street/Slum lives as well as corruption & underworld activities) but not 'somehow' critically acclaimed worldwide like the way SDM did. For example, Salaam Bombay (1988), Satya (1998), Company (2002) were also some fascinating movies that appealed to me in more broad way than SDM.

I like to hear from _V_ regarding this issue.

It was a beautiful story indeed, specially I mostly liked the childhood part of 2 brothers..specially when Jamal ran to get an autograph from Big B..that was awesome! :)

Its a shame nobody has thought of making one, yet.

We can always hope.

RocknRolla (2008)

Though it not might as good as Snatch or Lock, Stock but it's another typical Guy Ritchie film with lots of fun & 'Rock n' Roll';) !

There's B-Grade horror and then there's b-grade horror.

This film is about a woman who receives a creepy mask and then thinks she's haunted by the Nightmare man, a demon that comes to her in her dreams... And then it becomes her reality...

I honestly have no issue with monster/slasher films, but the production value of this film was so incredibly low that everyone in the theater couldn't help but give way to laughter. The demon's mask was absolutely pathetic, and attempts to catch the victim were just... poorly choreographed... The dialogue was stereotypically bad, but not so bad as to be self-conscious parody... Just an all around bad movie. As in, I want that hour and a half back. WOW.
1/5

..Fully agree with you, Chrono.

Monkey Shines. Better than I remember it- suspenseful sci fi thriller. Still, there's a moment toward the end that made me laugh....

Tremors, cuz Kevin Bacon kicks so much ass in that flick!!

"The hell you did! Bologna and beans!!"
