BFG edition of DOOM3.
I missed this when it first came out, well I had a bit of a go at it when I was at an internet cafe with games but it was very slow to start so I never managed to get into it.
Thought I'd give this a go as it's meant to look a bit better and addressed a major issue (the torch thing?) that people had with the first release.

I don't mind it, quite atmospheric but vastly different from the series up to that point...not that I was expecting something THAT oldskool...but yeah it's alright. A bit annoying that more things have just snuck up on me or appeared behind me than in maybe any other game I've ever played.
The narrative/storyline addition serves the evolution well, as does the PDA system VS the old looking around for various coloured keys.
I'll give it this, it does manage to put me on edge.

Kind of makes me yearn for something new to feel a little more oldskool, but it's a relatively well made game, even if it is showing it's age somewhat.
I'll probably play through.

That's the best voice acting i've ever seen in a game.
Feels like playing a real movie.

I keep thinking of getting this game but the linear storylines put me off.I love the Uncharted games but same as The Last of Us it is too linear.I am torn between buying it but on the other side worried about the paths these games take you, leaving you no real sense of freedom to explore.

Would you still recommend this game to me knowing this?

Hard to say really.

But i'll tell you this. I'm not a big fan of linear games either, and this is one of the best games i have ever played due to the characters and the story. Nothing i can say about any other game i've played. Heavy Rain comes closest, but i prefer this kind of gameplay.

I read that it is like a game version of `The Road`,one of my all time favourite movies,if it is similar in tone and storyline then it is a winner for me.

I can sure see the resemblance. The Last of Us just isn't quite as dark.

I would call it a blend between The Road & Dawn of the Dead, with a bit of the Uncharted action/gameplay.

Final Fantasy Dissidia, its pretty interesting so far, seems to have a lot of replay value but I can't shake the feeling that there's a mechanic I'm missing. Ah well, I didn't have time to jump into an RPG but was looking for a good (and sorry guys, linear) single play game with a story I could get behind. This might do it.

"Heroes of Might & Magic V" PC

Same gameplay but with much improved graphics since IV.
So far i'm a fan.

Just got done with "Escape from Butcher Bay".
Very early stages of "Assault on Dark Athena " now.
Interesting to read about the overall development saga of this game, from what it was meant to be, to what it became...

Though yeah anyways, feels like at the moment I'm playing just...more of Butcher Bay in a different setting, but that's cool - I wanted more out of that.
Looks fine. Seems to be as interesting as the first game so far.

I'm back on the WoW and Lord of the Rings Online. What can I say; I've always been a sucker for a good mmorpg.

And speaking of rpg's, I'm currently running two tabletop campaigns. One of which is in Pathfinder RPG and the other is in The One Ring.

Still playing Arkham Horror occasionally also. It's a boardgame based on the Cthulhu Mythos.
