What did you think?

I've seen it a few times and it gets better with age. (Age of the movie, as well as my age.) I'm a big fan of Maggie Gyllenhaal and have always been interested in fetishism. All in all, it's a really great movie. but it's not for everyone.

Wanted

A real blast from beginning to end. That being said, the performances were mediocre. But the sequences more than make up for that. Its just an entertainer, nothing more.

Rating - * * *

Mr and Mrs Smith

This one is for all the Pitt-Jolie fans who would go ga-ga over them. I wasnt impressed much. Add to that a real eyeroll of a premise.

Rating - * * ½

Shoot 'Em Up

Just like Wanted, a total cheesy entertainer. But this one has some pretty decent performances from all 3 leads, which makes this much more entertaining than Wanted.

Rating - * * * ½

I Am Legend

Sure, its a remake, but it was decent. Not so much by Will Smith who had the chance to impress the shit out of me but fell several notches, except the "dog" sequence (would you believe if I told you I was really touched when that happened). and the "dining table" sequence. As for the rest, CGI creatures didnt do much to add to the flavor of the flick. The shots of empty New York, with grass growing all over the concrete pavements, however, were really breath-taking.

Ok. Be Kind, Rewind was better than I thought it would be. It still was ridiculous all the way through, which is completely what I expected, but it turned out to be a kind of touching( as cheese as it sounds)movie also.

Amityville - the new one...not having seen ANY of the original, or the sequels and various (how many exactly, anyone?) spin-offs that were drummed out thereafter, I'm not entirely sure how this one would rate in comparison.

There were some interesting effects and a few jumps, it was "ok" but I wouldn't consider it all that great. I'm not much ito the modern remakes of this type of film, had the same "attempted" atmosphere of the one missed call/grudge remakes that gets close but doesn't quite hit the mark.

It's ok, and I wouldn't advise against watching it, just not really my thing.

Surveillance (2008/2009)

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_tkiNWRwbdg...rveillance.jpg

Synopsis:
Two FBI agents, Elizabeth Anderson (Julia Ormond) and Sam Hallaway (Bill Pullman), arrive at a local police station in the Santa Fe desert to investigate a series of murders. They interrogate three Witness|eyewitnesses: Police officer Jack Bennet, the meth-addict Bobby, and Stephanie, an eight-year-old girl, whose family was murdered by two figures dressed in jumpsuits and latex masks.

The story unfolds in an interesting way by interviewing the witnesses/suspects and finding their different point of views & lies about the incident that helped to build up the tension and gave a nice premise for a decent mystery thriller flick. Though the "little twist" at the end was quite able to ruined the whole set up but overall it's worth a watch for the well casts and the gore parts. Surveillance directed by Jennifer Lynch...daughter of David Lynch who is also the executive producer of this movie.
