Another tale of a disaffected loser undergoing a breakup with his wife, which he can't let go of, who ends up trying an outrageous act to get back at the world that doesn't accept him. I'm sorry- I've seen this type of movie too many times before. It tries to make an important statement but ultimately comes off as empty.

I usually like Sean Penn, but this time he just seemed very mannered. His portrayal was like too many other roles he's done.

Don Cheadle and Rosario Dawson were both wasted. The most interesting thing to me was Michael Wincott as Penn's older brother. He has one scene and his performance was perfect.

Sorry to hear that...I loved that one.

That said, I haven't seen it since it first came out on DVD, so it's been a couple years - maybe I'd think differently now.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) - 10/10.

Finally got around to seeing this. Definitely as great as people make it out to be. One of the best films I've ever seen.

Color Me Kubrick (2005) - 7/10.

Not as good as I thought it was going to be but still worth a watch.

EDMOND

I've seen it mentioned here, so when I saw it was on IFC I checked it out. What an amazing film. Stunning David Mamet script and breathtaking performance by William H. Macy.

CUBE

Was also on IFC. It was an intriguing film, but I got distracted in the last 5 minutes so I have no idea how it turned out!

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

I think it'd be more accurate to say--this 160 minute long length feature film is somewhat inspired by the short story with the same title of F. Scott Fitzgerald...not based on. Though they changed lots of thing from Fitzgerald's story but it still remains a great film to watch.

It's a winner for sure. Make sure you check out King Of The Ants and Stuck.
