I've been waiting ages to see this and wow, it makes Machine Girl look like the Care Bears. If you enjoyed Brain Dead then you'll love this.

TGP was pure splatterpunk joy. Everything that MG could and SHOULD have been, if it didn't blow its budget on misleading advertising.

Blood Car

Tongue and cheek movie about an environmentalist trying to create a totally green-powered car and who accidentally creates an engine powered by human blood. Feels like the project of a film student's improv group. Not bad... Cute, quirky, funny, but a little heavy-handed at times.

However, I support the independent filmmaker and at least it's something a little different.

2.5/5

Gotta say..... I didn't love it.

Felt long and boring at times.

I know it's not a movie as such, but I've just watched all 3 (loooong) episodes of the SciFi channels "Tinman".
I was a little apprehensive when I heard that this was like a remake/reinvention of "the wonderful wizard of Oz", but I like some of the people that were in it, so decided to check it out.
This show, was cool...it was *almost* a remake, with a few interesting twists.
The characters were *almost* Lion, tinman, dorothy and scarecrow, but not quite...how they had their thing, their "missing element" was handled very well.
The scenery was nice, and some of the sets quite intricate.
The effects were on par with most of what comes out of the sci-fi channel.
The acting for the better part, was pretty solic.
So yeah, also had what I thought was a pretty cool twist towards the end that changes your perception of what the entire show was about.
8/10 for me.

The Assassination of Richard Nixon

Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Rosario Dawson

Another tale of a disaffected loser undergoing a breakup with his wife, which he can't let go of, who ends up trying an outrageous act to get back at the world that doesn't accept him. I'm sorry- I've seen this type of movie too many times before. It tries to make an important statement but ultimately comes off as empty.

I usually like Sean Penn, but this time he just seemed very mannered. His portrayal was like too many other roles he's done.

Don Cheadle and Rosario Dawson were both wasted. The most interesting thing to me was Michael Wincott as Penn's older brother. He has one scene and his performance was perfect.

Let The Right One In (2008)

BEAUTIFUL!

I think this is going to be treated as one of the Classic Vampire Tales of all time one day. After The Orphanage, I'm again emotionally touched by a horror film. :)
