We went to see it again, at a dinner theater. Well I didn't eat my meal.

I was enthralled. This film is incredible.

I don't remember either, but I don't think we'd expect to see his dingy in that shot. It wasn't rated x. ::big grin::

I understand male actors wear a something for those type of scenes, that uses adhesive if necessary.

Backcountry (2014)
7/10

A thirty-something' couple faces various threats while going deep-woods tenting, including a bear.

The best part of the film is the couple dealing with consequences their own expectations, personal fears, limitations and natural human mating feelings.

It's a bit of a mild thriller; fairly light entertainment.

Don’t Let Go 7-8/10

I really liked this one up until the ending, which was ridiculously implausible.

But interesting story and stellar acting from everyone.

The title of the movie is Hello Guys?

THE DESCENT (2005). Sure I mentioned this at one time, but a few years since I checked it out and REALLY a great movie. Such claustrophobia, some true scares and could not believe all the grue...just great! Also loved the interaction between the two main characters towards the end. ****1/2

FryeDwight 11-25-2019 01:19 AM

THE MULE (2018). Decent flick with Triple Threat Clint Eastwood (producing, Directing, Acting) as a washed up professionally/ personally Senior who scores a job moving drugs. Not as essential as some of his other films, but the Man is amazing, doing all this in his 80's and truly a National treasure. ***

Joker.
I liked it just fine.
Good to see a bit of quality find its way back into DC films outside their animated efforts. Well played. Sombre, moody, sad.
I'm not about to puff it up as much as the comic-based-cinema fans, and I can't really comment as a comic fan - as this is quite seperate from anything I was familiar with...
I'll just say, I think it's worth a watch.

I think I hit the jackpot

" They want to see heads flying off, and they want it RIGHT NOW. "

The best movie for heads (& other body parts)flying off is "Dead Alive". The absolute best for sheer gore.

TRICK 2019

A masked killer nicknamed "Trick" seems to defy all odds and returns every Halloween to slice and dice his victims. Some familiar faces and while it was fairly enjoyable, i found the ending a let-down.

Grease - there's some entertaining scenes, but mostly not, good music.
Beasts of No Nation - interesting and informative, but not that enjoyable
Dolemite Is My Name - more informative than funny
Mudbound - slow, a bit drearily realistic, but a nice slice of life in that time period
Between Two Ferns: The Movie - saw part of this. I like the actual interviews, but pretty much nothing else.
The Unknown Known - doc on Donald rumsfeld. I love DR, but this didn't dig deep enough. It's not near as entertaining or deep as Fog of War. DR needs to be interviewed again.
Jimi Hendrix - you get closer to having an idea who he was personally, but that's not very close at all. I wonder if this is as close as it gets? Some very good concert footage though.
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil - enjoyable characters, but not that funny really.
The Cloverfield Paradox - fairly entertaining sci-fi, but just OK.

Candy Corn

That one pays tribute to the great horror classics from the 1970s and 1980s. It does an overall good job with that as well. There are plenty of very intense scenes, along with plenty of humorous dialogue. Tony Todd also makes a good appearance in there as well. Fans of the horror classics from the '70s and '80s should not be disappointed. ::devil::

So... am I crazy for not liking VVitch? It didn't do anything for me. And I know this is a sacreligious thing to say since it's objectively better than most of the mainstream stuff coming out lately. I just didn't connect to it. I thought it was well made and had a creepy tone to it, and awesome music, but nothing mindblowing. 5/10 -- Don't hate me guys.

Same here. I wouldn't say I liked it, but I was mildly entertained... intellectually, and appreciated the cinematography and sound. I respected the apparent authenticity to the language used for the time period, and the honest Christian theology in the beginning. But other than all that, it was a bit dreary for me.

Thank god, haha. And I 100% agree.

BEWARE OF MR BAKER (2012). Impressive debut from Director Jay Bulgar is a documentary of Cream/Blind Faith /other bands drummer Peter "Ginger" Baker widely considered one of the best in his field. Indeed he was with much footage from the previously listed groups as well as when he lived in Nigeria and "Drum Battles" with other players. He also was a devotee of Polo and touching scenes of he and his horses/dogs/stepchildren.
He also was a notoriously prickly individual with seemingly little regard for anyone else and very little impulse control-You'll almost shake your head in amazement at some of the things He did and also be glad You didn't have to be around him , for despite his talent and amazing life, He was an abrasive, cantankerous asshole.
While I certainly found this well made, it made Me think back when I started finding out that musicians I looked up to when younger, turned out to be people I would want to avoid at all costs. ***
