"Let the right one in" 7/10

Cute.

More of a drama than a horror movie.

Missed some answers here and there, especially about the ending. But all in all a pretty good movie.

Ive found my new favorite Miike film. fabulous, bizzare, tons of fun, stuffed full of homages, yet somehow remains pretty damn original. great visuals, great action, great entertainment, fans of westerns should dig it. Loved how it ended with a Japanese version of the Django theme song.

Did you think (my small complaint here) that it would have been better in Japanese with subtitles than done in "Engrish"?

Role Models

Generic story, with quite a few good laughs. Paul Rudd and Jane Lynch are really good, and the rest of the cast carries their weight as well. 6.9/10

Zack and Miri Make A Porno

Not on par with Smith's best, but still pretty funny and well done. 7/10

Let The Right One In

The best and most beautifully done vampire story(which as angra said, is more drama than horror)I've seen in years. That's honestly all I can find to say about it, you just have to see it. 8.9/10

haha!
Im not really sure about that one. i couldn't understand much of anything, watched it with English subtitles, but it did sort of add to the strangeness of it.

I love Miike. I'm pretty psyched for this one, even though I've never seen a true Western.

I'm also pretty psyched about seeing Let The Right One In. Good to see that you guys are enjoying it.

...

Been trying to get in the mindless comedies...

Friday night I watched

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...100_SY139_.jpg

I don't know... Admittedly, I was kinda trashed, but, well, the movie just didn't really DO it for me. It had some parts that made me smile (all of the fake songs from "We've Got To Do Something" to "Inside Of You" to "Dracula's Lament" and especially the parody of CSI with Stephen Baldwin doing a fantastic David Caruso impression were all HILARIOUS), Paul Rudd was his usual AMAZING self and Mila Kunis is ridiculously smoking hot... But I felt as though, as a whole it was kinda weak. I don't know. The BIG JOKE seemed to be that the main male character (Jason Segel) was just pathetic (naked, crying, blathering...)... I think that some people find it funny. I just find it... meh.

2.5/5

Tonight we watched

Tropic Thunder

http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...X99_SY140_.jpg

Another meh. Some funny parts. Some fantastic cameos. And it pretty much seals the deal on me wanting to completely DO Robert Downey Jr (as the blonde Australian).

3/5

Am I MISSING something here? Did other people find these films amazingly funny?? I've heard that these movies were pretty fucking hilarious... But I just felt... meh with some occasional smiles and nods. Bored. Disassociated.

I don't know. It's been a really shitty week and particularly a shitty day... I was kinda expecting these movies to really lift my spirits. Maybe I just had too high hopes. That or maybe I don't feel feelings. meh.

You're not alone.

I thought forgetting sarah marshall was easily that crowds worst film...it's like about 4 really funny lines put into an otherwise shitty, boring movie - the lead plays a better bit part, the bit part guy plays a better lead...I can happily not see this film ever again. That I've heard some people talking about buying it on dvd on release day, honestly confuses me.

I'm also with you on Tropic Thunder, although I at least remotely liked this one. RDJ made the film, Ben Stiller felt oddly empty for his first "adult-ish" comedy in some time, and Jack Black was just annoying. The Tom Cruise character was a bit of a laugh, but overall this just wasn't the film I was hoping it would be.

You know we can't see these IMDB pix...

Dance of the Dead (2008)

Kudos to this low budget effort! It was a great fun ride with quite a fine & simple plot. The kids were good with the roles & delivered some pretty hilarious dialogs, scenes and technique to control the dead;) . Overall, a good Zombie comedy indeed. Definitely Worth a watch.
