Much more effective than The Devil's Backbone, and that says something.

i liked it a lot - but i still prefer Devil's Backbone ...

WALL·E (2008)

Even better the second time.

Same here, while I really liked The Orphanage I found it a bit more predictable and a tad less atmospheric than Devil's Backbone. Both are fine movie though and I highly recommend them.

this one suprised me ..

the ads made it look like absolute shit. i dreaded seeing this one.
all that was hyped was this contrived cutsey shit that was a total misrepresentation of the film. as it turned out the movie was really well done.

they did the same thing with ratatouille as well ... shitty moronic ads - great movie

Yeah, I definitely agree. I was pretty unimpressed with Cars, and when I saw the trailer for Ratatouille, I didn't think it was going to be any better. I loved it, however, so I was a little more anxious to see WALL·E.

I'll look forward to great work from them in the future, now.

Roger And Me (1989) - 8/10.

My favorite Micheal Moore documentary.

Let the Right One In - Wow. I'm still reeling from what I just watched. It's filmed beautifully, the writing is never off, but those kids just make the movie. They are simply perfect in conveying a budding romance of the purest kind. I doubt the actors cast in the remake will be able to capture the easy chemistry between the two. The violence, though brutal, is never gratuitous or out of place. Amazing film.

And now I can truly join in on the remake hating.

and i saw Bolt

way better than expected. nice animation .. and a really funny hampster.

then we watched Master of Disguise.
i cant stand Dana Carvey - the movie is awful but my kid was laughing so that made me laugh

I am really glad to see that. It needs to be seen and appreciated by everybody. One of the best and underrated foreign flicks of this year.

Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Made for 5 yr olds who would gape at the 3D animatronics on screen and clap every 15 minutes. Stick to the 2D version if you are watching at home. 3D has absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. And Brendan Fraser has gone down yet another notch in this - at least in The Mummy franchise he was tolerable.
