How did it end again? I've already forgot.

That's funny you say that, because I saw it three days ago and I have already forgotten....LOL....;) yeah, the last few minutes of it didn't make much of an impact. I did like a lot of the beginning, but at some point it just started to fall apart. But I was in some amount of pain after hurting my neck, so maybe that adversely effected my opinion of the film in general. :D

Were you on drugs as well?

That movie clearly proved that Shimizu, at that time, had an amazing imagination, but as a director still had alot to learn.

"Reincarnation" Showed much better directing, storytelling and that he has improved alot since "marebito". Of course a bigger budget is always helpful, but not without a creative mind. And thank God he still have that.

Yes, Shimizu is my hero director.

No, I was not on drugs.....avoiding a doctor's visit if I can, and I don't just have painkillers laying around......:D Just hurting, and having a bit of trouble concentrating. Might have been a combination of pain and boredom, not sure....;)

That's why I believe it was worth the one viewing, some of the ideas were very good......and there were some really effective scenes. Just wasn't consistent at all.

Reincarnation is on my Netflix list.....I will move it up, just because of your favorable review....and I will watch it when I am feeling my best.

Well, we watch a lot of movies.....I can't help it that when we go to rent movies the ones that mostly interest me are Asian films. :D
On the Netflix Queue there is a wider variety of films. So we take breaks.......;)

Clever you...

Have u seen a movie called "Ao no hono-oooooo ho ono hooo" aka "The blue light"?

It's a crime/drama about a boy who wants to get rid of his stepfather.

I watched most of it about a week ago, but fell asleep after an hour or so.

It was quite interesting and pretty good actually. But of course, i didn't catch the ending, so......

i enjoyed rebirth and forbidden fruit the most.

Angra 06-26-2007 02:46 PM

Well, actually i've only seen the first one and then Re-birth.

Then i gave up on that franchise...

It's just a stupid "horror" concept that never deserved a sequal in the first place, if u ask me.

Maybe it would've worked better as a drama. I don't know.

You shouldn't.

At least not with this one.

Like i said, i fell asleep. But it started out quite well. And the IMDB ratings aren't bad either.

First two episodes of Death Note (Anime).

I've got a long way to go with this !

the_real_linda 06-28-2007 03:58 PM

Angra 06-29-2007 10:21 AM

Miike's "Imprint" 8/10

Still good, gross and includes one very creepy scene.

I only have 1 big problem with it. Billy Drago.

That dude is one hell of a shitty actor.

roshiq 06-30-2007 12:34 AM

Silk (Guisi)

Yes & yes,it's not a "Boo" made you jump sort of a movie,it's more creepy and meloncholic. There are one or two flaws but they are small, very much worth a watch imo.

Visitor Q. One of the most bizarre films I've ever seen, and probably the best film I've watched this year.

DP McCoy 07-01-2007 09:10 AM

Ringu(Again)- A Classic.8/10

DP McCoy 07-05-2007 10:02 AM

Suicide Club-

I really was intrigued by much of this movie,it was disturbing and hard hitting satire that features possibly the most shocking opening sequence I think I have ever seen,Ryo Ishibashi was great and for the most part(apart from Rolly)the rest of the cast was pretty good too.The one thing I didn't like was the end,it was far too abrupt.I don't need exposition layed on thick but a smidge more would have been nice.7.5/10

Angra 07-08-2007 12:03 PM

"Dynamite Warrior" 7/10

Dan Chupong sure is a great martial artist, but he's no Tony Jaa. Not quite as fast and talented.

Would love to see those two up against each other in a movie though. That would be sweeeet.

Despare 07-09-2007 05:42 PM

Knockabout

Biao Yuen is amazing and when he's on screen with Sammo Hung it's really something to see.

roshiq 07-12-2007 01:30 AM

Takashi Shimizu's Marebito

...a very strange but lousy kind of story. Though it could be a good-creepy horror flick but it's poor & confusing ending have failed to make it so.
Overall… it’s boring.
