We get a lot of questions about his boots, the laces specifically.

After part 4 it becomes a joke and doesnt have that genuine jason feel anymore however parts 5 and 6 and 7 are nowhere near as bad as jason takes manhatten which really does turn the series into a big joke. Part 9 Jason goes to hell is a big improvement and introduced the nightmare series which is good to watch after. His personality stays the same throughout however and doesnt hesitate to kill anybody. His disfigurement slightly changes however.

and the laces on his boots are the subject of much debate. Don't neglect that tidbit.

Let's review the original parts of Jason's character...

He does not talk.
He rarely runs.
He uses a blade to kill people a lot of the time.
He wears a mask to hide his face.
There is little reasoning behind the full extent of his psychopathic ways.
His murders always commence on a specific day of the year.

Oh, sorry. I was thinking of Michael Myers.

I feel the laces in Michael's boots add more character, unlike Jason's, his laces are really just there to look creepy even though they totally clash with his boots.

Very few people know that Jason is actually addicted to health drinks - the secret of his unending stamina.

The only ones I liked in the series were the one before and the one after, thats part IV: Final Chapter and part VI: Jason Lives, thats excluding the original and Freddy vs Jason of course.

Haha. Wow. How far __V__ has come over the years. :D

That put a smile on my face.

Still hate pt. V, but not nearly as much as VII & VIII or even IX.
I thought the first four films of this series stand out as a pretty fine quadrilogy on their own right. They should have ended it right there.

And to be fair in pt. V's and pt. IX's defenses, they did try to take the franchise in a new direction - (SPOILERS AHEAD) V bringing in a copycat killer with the same modus operandi and IX trying to make the big man scary again by trying to make us see the scares of his soul possessing anybody, even us. At least they gave it their best shots to be somewhat unique even when being late sequels of such a big franchise which was fast losing its charm, unlike VII and VIII which weren't the least bit scary.
Where they failed was the actual absence of Jason in both of them.

VII was laughable, so was VIII. Bad, bad, bad.
X was a terrible sucker punch below the belt. Worst of the lot. What were they thinking?

I liked Juwanna Mann and the little boy in part V and that was about it. Part 6 is the only installment I actually consider great. Parts 2, 3, and 4 were all decent. The original I didn't care for, namely because of all the POV shots. I liked the way Halloween did it better, use it once, reveal who the killer is, just show the killer. I know it aided in the twist, but I'm just not a big fan of POV shots.

Me either. One of the main reasons why this franchise is not liked a lot by many horror fans.

And the biggest problem of them all - no matter what Jason did (heck he could even face up to God and chop Him into 16 million pieces), he will always be compared to Michael, and he will end up second everytime.

massacre man 08-10-2010 09:06 AM

I always (and by always I mean between the ages of 12 and 15 when I thought it would actually make a good movie) thought that if Michael and Jason were to fight Michael would eventually win but Jason being the brute would put up a fight. But thinking about it now, if Jason fought Rob Zombie's Michael Myers Jason would get demolished. His body can't be that strong it's been rotting for about 20 years.

Wow, just realized I was 12 when Freddy vs Jason was released.
