Of course!

And yep, that was ol' PJ, pulling off a double roll as the ass-kicking nerd as well as Robert, the henchman that gets tortured.

Must have been strange parts to play, considering he kinda has to torture himself...

Basic Instinct 2

It wasnt too bad. I havet seen the first one, so I dont have anything to compare it to, but I found it fairly enjoyable. Aside from Sharon Stone's nude scenes *shudder*. That woman is too damn old for this kind of role.

Miss Olivia 08-02-2006 09:20 PM

It wouldn't suprise me if dust puffed out every time she opened her legs.

I watched Sleepy Hollow. I love the movie except for Christina Ricci. She just doesn't do anything for me. Christopher Walken's character was great, though.

Doom

It was a little better than I was expecting. I guess I assumed it would be PG-13 so I was pleasently surprised that it was R. Interesting story, decent gore & The Rock's acting wasn't all that bad. (Actually, he's not too bad at all... I really liked The Rundown & his character in Be Cool too.) Anyways, this wasn't anything groundbreaking but it was fairly entertaining. The 1st person shooter perspective towards the end was pretty interesting.

C+

Demons rules!!!! That's probably in my Top 10 horror films for sure!

Demons 2 is more of the same basically, but it involves a different group of people and they are trapped in an apartment compleex, not a movie theatre. The guy that plays the pimp in the first one is back in the second one though as a different character.

I got a kick out of a lot of it ..

Leslie Neilson at the UN, Tom Cruise going crazy,
the digs at The Village...and the Grudge

(i dont know what i enjoy more .. a film i hate getting ripped, or one i love :)

it petered out near the end but it still provided some good laughs

The best part was during the War of the Worlds part where all the elctronics stop working & that terrorists jumps out of the van with a bomb strapped to his chest shouting 'Death to America! ...Oh shit.' That was the highlight of the film for me for sure. I was glad that they didnt let the Wayans Bros have anything to do with this one too.

urgeok 08-03-2006 07:47 AM

Monster Squad

dated as hell but still kind of fun

mixed reactions to the use of the budget .. excellent in some places, weak in others.

somehow managed to pull off a moving relationship with the monster and the little girl..

That is such a classic.

There's a pretty dope 'Kick him in the Nards!' shirt for sale if you click the banner for horror t-shirts on the top of some of the HDC pages. $15 but I'm thinking about it... There's a pretty awesome WWJD (J=Jason Mask) shirt too that I might have to purchase....

The Exorcism of Emily rose.
I saw it last night for the 2nd time in two days.
it's awsome but it's more of a thriller/drama than a horror.

I'm just not too impressed with her acting. She's just one of those actresses I developed a dislike for, it happens. Different strokes and all that.

the only thing that bugged me (because i watched it with my 5 year old boy ... was the use of the word 'faggot' and 'bitch'

seemed out place given the audience this would normally appeal to .. (smaller kids)

Miss Olivia 08-03-2006 01:12 PM

I think they were trying to appeal more to teenagers....but it's still a pretty good monster flick for the younger crowd. I've been dying to get my hands on it for a while now.

The Matador

Going into a movie with high expectations usuallly leaves me cold, but not in this case. Really good movie, highly recomended. Best performance of Brosnan and Kinnear's careers IMO.

The only thing: I wish I would have known how dialogue driven it was beforehand. Personally I love that kind of movie (providing the characters are interesting, which they are here). My dad, on the other hand, hates that kind of movie. I really wish Id watched it alone, so I didnt have him complaing about "nothing going on" for the whole movie:rolleyes:

Agreed....Brosnan's best performance...Kinnear's is still in "As Good as it Gets".
