Alright I watched Equilibrium last night. It was pretty good, but I can't really see how/why people would think it was better than the first Matrix. (Being that it came out after it and borrowed heavily from it. If The Matrix never existed, this film would have been very different.) Nevertheless, I like dark futuristic movies and this one was pretty cool. Christian Bale does a good job. Lots of gunfighting. Deep storyline. Good action.

I'd give it about a B+. Definately worth a rent. Thanks for the info/suggestion fellas.

Day of the Dead. Wow, what an amazing movie. If anyone hasnt seen it, Id recomemd you stop reading. Major spoilers to come.

There was only one thing I could find to dislike about this movie, and it was really minor. I despise it when movies have excessive, uncalled for strong language. That aside, this was frickin amazing. I damn near cried when Bub found Logan's body, and the salute to Rhodes at the end was a great shot. Joe Pilato did a great job as Rhodes, one of the most convincing movie assholes Ive ever seen! Frakenstiens death was damn cool too. Awesome movie...

2. In the original, more was left to the imagination. It never told you why the house was haunted, it just sorta was. I find that much creepier than semi-decent looking CGI ghosts in a movie like this.

3. Father Delaney was one of my favorite parts of the original, and he hardly had a cameo in this one. His scene in the house when it tells him to Get Out is one of my all time personal favorite scenes.

4. In the original, I liked how the house cut them off from the outside world, by screwin' with the phone lines, and sickening those who entered. None of this is in the new.

1. I thought Brolin was great too, but i found Reynolds performance equaly good, just different. More like Jack Torrance character. Actually, the remake reminded me a lot of "The shining"...

2. One of the things that i found really great about the remake was that they actually SHOWED you something in contrast to the original that showed you absolutely nothing! Now donīt get me wrong. I too love a creepy atmosphere, but that alone doensīt do it for me, if nothing else turns up before the credits rolls. That was the case with the original and it left me very disappointet. Other examples of great atmospheric horror movies that ended up leaving me the same way are "The changeling" and "Session 9".

3. Father Delaney wasnīt an important factor for the plot in the original, thatīs why he had such a small part in the new version i think. Itīs the family that itīs all about and that was what the remake focused on. And i personaly didnīt like the talking house in the original. It ruined some of the creepiness for me.

4. I liked the original house too. But nevertheless i liked that the remake went in some other directions.

I think that all in all i love all that you hate about the remake, and when it comes to the original itīs the other way around.;)

Peace

Flesh for the Beast... which sucked, the general story, people go into a haunted house to solve the problem and these demons take the form of women and the guys screw the women and then after they screw them the women turn into demons and kill them, it's stupid.
