Lords Of Chaos (2018)
I went into this with an open mind and ended up enjoying it. It was an entertaining biopic which didn't shy away from some of the tragic and violent subject matter. The actual events have been clouded by exaggerated mythology, half truths and straight up lies over time so it's hard to say how accurate some of it was. It paints Euronymous in a more favorable light than Varg which there is some truth to. I'd always kinda pictured Euronymous as a nastier Charles Manson type figure manipulating and orchestrating chaos that eventually blew up in his face. I thought it was a bit of an oversight not mentioning Messiah and Maniac the vocalists before Dead (especially since they released the Deathcrush EP with Maniac). I dug how it put a human side to it and I'd forgotten just how young these guys were. The film may not appeal to the die-hard black metal fan (well some will front and not admit it haha) but I think it's well crafted enough that mainstream audiences can jump into that world for an entertaining and sombre ride. |

A pretty dark at times cyberpunk movie with some horror type deaths. It shouldn't have surprised me but it did. Worth checking out. |

This was actually pretty good. Really creepy with a great atmosphere. The main character was dumb as hell though |
Meet Joe Black (1998) (netflix)
8/10 Business tycoon Anthony Hopkins is visited by Death, played by Brad Pitt. Death is interested in experiencing some life, and there's a mutual interest between him and Hopkin's daughter, played by Claire Forlani, with all her mouth, looking left and right and down, facial expressions. I didn't know what to expect, and it's pretty unusual. There's a bit of old movie 30s-40s feel here, like say Topper, or the literary classics, but with completely modern speaking and specifics. Lot's of good advice given, said quite well. I was surprised by its 3hr runtime, so take note. |

I really enjoyed this one. "Best Picture"...I don't know...it's really all subjective. out of the handful I saw [ Bohemian Rhapsody, Vice, Blackklansman,Black Panther, A Star is Born] it's as good a choice as any.

A story kinda like Disneys’ “Enchanted”. Pretty funny. |
I Saw the Devil (2010)
I took DBD's rec. It's 2 hrs 20 mins, South Korean, English subtitled. A serial killer kills this special agent's wife. And the agent brutalizes suspects, until he finds the killer. Then he brutalizes him, puts a tracker on him, and lets him go... where the killer goes on to kill more people and sexual assault women. While the killer is doing this, the agent catches him, brutalizes him again and releases him again, repeat. It's extremely graphic with violence and sexual assault, I'd say unnecessarily, but it's really what's on the menu. It's shot well, there's some emotional displays, but mostly disemboded. I didn't find it scary. And, as you can tell, a rather unrealistic plot. I wouldn't recommend it unless that's you're cup of tea. |

Possession of Hannah Grace
Not bad. Had a creepy vibe and interesting story. They at least tried to do something different with a possession story. A little similar to Autopsy of Jane Doe, which was much better, in that it takes place in a morgue and features a dead body causing trouble. The kills were boring and predictable and the ending confused me but not a bad watch. 6/10 |
“Mother” 2/10
Horror? Horror my ass. This must be the most annoying movie experience I’ve ever had. Annoying from beginnng to end. |

Found - Highly recommended.
For the most part, the traditional horror stuff mostly goes on in the background, until the final act, which is very intense, and the final image will surely haunt you. Just like the kid with the sunglasses at the end of Eden Lake. Two very different films, but both of them pack a final punch that will sting you for a very long time. |

I did already see Headless, though. So it was kind of cute to see it incorporated in the film. *edit* I dug up my review, just for shits and giggles. Quote:

Deep Impact
Or how a bit of cornball action can be entertaining from time to time. Cheesy? Sure. But at least it wasn't as horrendous as Armageddon. One thing, though. The guy who played Elijah Wood's mentor at the start. I'm pretty sure I recognise him from somewhere but I cannot put my finger on what. |

elijah wood was in deep impact? I didn't recognise him. Now I know why... i never saw deep impact. I only saw Armageddon. That's weird. |

If you're talking about the darked haired teacher in the first scene asking Wood questions about the stars... i'm not sure. |

They Shall Not Grow Old
Peter Jackson's documentary about World War I ......man talk about horror. Starts off like most photos and video you may have seen from that era but at the maybe ten minute mark this OPENS up like seeing OZ for the first time in color. PJ did a beautiful job restoring pictures and video from WW1. And it actually makes a cohesive story...not just random pictures and video. |

So if he's been in a ton of stuff, I would imagine he died in a few of his roles too. |
