I don't really know. Considering the creator's opinions (Mel's, not god's) I really wonder what the motivation was for a Jesus snuff flick.
Makes you wonder.

i dont remember a strong sense of disliking it ... more of an indifference (which iis worse)

one of those movies you forget completely about once it's over ..

i felt bad about the girl dying in real life though .. it kind of overshadowed the film.

Personally I think much of that arrest story is sensationalistic BS.

I know what I see and hear on the video and that's it.

Miss Olivia 08-01-2006 03:11 PM

What was on the video?

The Mothman 08-01-2006 03:20 PM

Suspiria.

I wanted to enjoy this movie folks. i really did. but i really didnt like it. Lighting was terrible, blues and reds and greens you could never tell what was going on, pretty boring throughout the whole thing as well. Deep Red was a far better film in my opinion, and the music in deep red was better in my opinion too.

Him flipping out at the cops saying he'll ruin them etc...

Being an ass but not anti-semitic, those were claims not video. He was being a prick though, and he was drunk obviously. As far as the movie goes it's not so much anti-semitic as it is an accurate portrayal of the Biblical description.

I thought Goblin did an amazing job with the soundtrack and the lighting was one of my favorite things about the movie. To each their own though. :)

Well, apparently Mel admitted to making the racial slurs, and is asking for forgivness from the Jewish community. I suppose it's to his credit that he acknowledged his comments and apologized, but it's still a damn shame.

Despare 08-01-2006 05:12 PM

I'm sure he said something but as with most things in the media I think it was blown up.

Anyway, anybody else here that's watched The Price of Milk? What'd you think?

Okay, if you've never listened to a thing I've said, listen to this... If you see a film boasting itself as a 'Polonia Brothers Classic'... Run like hell! This is another terrible, no-budget film from the 4 pack I am in the midst of watching. This one is the same crew that made Night Thirst, which also sucked pretty badly. It's like they look around the house for props, grab the camcorder and go make movie with little thought given to script or acting ability. The gore is almost never onscreen & when it is, it looks bad. This is the sort of fim that would be cool if your friend made it or something but not under any other circumstances.

Cemetary Man:

Now THIS is a fucked up movie. Dark, gory, funny and unique. I was pretty entertained from start to finish. Rupert Everett does a good job fending off zombies in this dark comedy horror flick...

good movie, always liked it.

Quills, with Geoffrey Rush and Kate Winslet. I love this movie, Geoffrey Rush is brilliant as the Marquis de Sade. The story is pretty dark, and the ending is anything but happy Hollywood. Awesome movie.

Bee-otch 08-02-2006 02:11 AM

Amadeus ... now there's a movie of substance .

between the shit flinging, rape, necrophilia, and depressing ending i definitely second that's its not a typical hollywood movie; that's why i really liked it. cheers to a great movie and cheers to good taste, miss liv.

I'd agree with that, i don't usually go for films with a 'social message' but this one is really good

urgeok 08-02-2006 08:12 AM

Scary Movie 4 (at the insistance of my wife :)

I got a kick out of a lot of it ..

Leslie Neilson at the UN, Tom Cruise going crazy,
the digs at The Village...and the Grudge

(i dont know what i enjoy more .. a film i hate getting ripped, or one i love :)

it petered out near the end but it still provided some good laughs

urgeok 08-02-2006 08:18 AM

previous evening :

princess diaries II - just as horrible as #1

garry marshall also directed Young Drs in Love as well as The Flamingo Kid.

both decent films - but the rest of his work is pure shit in my opinion.

he's directed Julia Roberts on several occasions and it was obvious he was trying to create another Julia Roberts clone in anne Hathaway (princess diaries)

formulatic lowest common denominator toilet fodder.

Thanks, Tarch.:)

I had to watch Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl again. Still a lot of fun, and it's still better than the sequel. It's a shame that once a movie is a success, it pretty much guarantees that all following sequels will be injected with steroids into overblown monsters. Not that I didn't like POTC2, I enjoyed it, but you can clearly see where the money won over the story.

Bad Taste - Loved every second of it! Only thing I didnt like was that I couldnt always understand their accents, but otherwise it was great!

The Revenge of Dr. X - This, on the other hand, I did not enjoy. The plot, from what I could make out, was some convoluted twist on the Frankenstein story. The actors are aful, the monster is laughable, the whole thing sucks.

You have seen the first installment, "Dr. X", haven't you? It's the one with Fay Wray.

Excellent movie.

I havent seen it, but I doubt they're related.

First off, the plots dont even resemble each other. Second, they were made 38 years apart. Lastly....Ed Wood wrote this one! If I had known that before watching it, Im sure I would have enjoyed it that much more:p
