The Birds

Alfred Hitchcock was the master of creepy atmospheric films and this one illustrates that nicely. Let's face it, a movie about all of the birds going crazy and attacking people has some major potential to suck, but not only did Hitchcock pull it off, he turned it into a masterpiece. Although not quite as awesome as Psycho, I thuroughly enjoy this film every time I watch it.

Audition

Well after hearing how hyped the violent content of this film was, I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a relatively slow moving, dramatic love story for all but the last ten minutes, at which point it takes a turn for the fucked up. The gore that was supposed to be shocking looked very real from a SFX point of view, but it certainly wasn't anything stomach churning or anything like that. I don't know... I expected a little more from this movie, but it wasn't terrible.... Just wasn't great either.

C

Fortress

It had a better budget and more gore than I was expecting, but it's still a fairly stereotypical sci-fi prison movie about an innocent man (Christopher Lambert) and an evil warden (played by the dad from That 70s Show). All in all, I wasn't bored or disappointed at all, in fact it was a pleasent surprise from a movie I wasn't expecting much from.

Friday the 13th 5

1/10 (Biggest shit heap i've EVER seen..... oh my God it was bad... The fact that they don't even show Jason until the last 15 minutes was trash too. the kills were basic, the gore was absent, and the acting... well its a friday film......... whatever, garbage.

I finally went and watched Pirates of the Carribean 2. It was fun, I enjoyed it. Of course the story could have been better, but if you keep in mind it's Disney then it doesn't bother you so much. Pretty entertaining time, although it was kind of long.

"Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

Van Damme´s "Double impact"

I think this must be the 10th time i see this movie. And first NOW i come to think how odd it is, that the 2 newborn twins who are growing up in 2 different parts of the planet (1 in Hong Kong and the other in Hollywood), both ends up speaking with a belgium accent.

And howcome The baby named Alex, who´s being left on the doorsteps to an orphanage in Hong Kong, still has the name Alex as an adult. What are the odds of that?

Could someone point out which friday film is the best other than part 1 of course? I want to see a good one.

After seeing 5 I hope there's better ones than that.

I want to see Jason a LOT, with lots of gore and kills, and violence of course....

I've seen 1,3,5, X, FVJ, and takes manhattan, and Jason Lives. What others are good. Are 2 and 4 good?

2, in my opinion was crap. 4 was pretty good and 7 as well. you can skip 6 and after jason goes to manhattan (8) the series really goes down hill (accept the last installment). still, other than the 1st i think 3 is the next best.

re the Fri 13s ..

there was one i thought was kind of good because they put some humor in - that was actually funny.

i cant remember which one it was (4, 5 ?) where some kid was getting blamed for the killings and he was being protected by the sherrifs daughter.

minor spoilers***************

at one point - while the councellors are being systematically slaughtered outside, a couple of kids are hiding under a bed and one says to the other : 'what were you going to be if you grew up ?"

and the part where the sherrif's daughter was helping the suspect escape in the car .. she shoved his head in her lap to get out of sight and at one point said. 'heads up - this corner is going to be hairy' and the guy looks at the camera breaking the 4th wall ...

i thought that the director of this one finally realized that there was nowhere to go with this tired dead series so he decided to inject some comedy ... which i could appreciate.

last seen :

The Princess Diaries (Disney)

watched this with the family.

complete garbage. stupid, unsophisticated, subtle as a flying mallet.

made for kids who's parents leave the room.
an ounce of wit and restrain would have gone a long way.
The characters were over the top cliched, the situations were moronic .. 1 sequence out of every 10 worked .. barely.

hard to believe adults made this film.

it was actually 6: Jason Lives. its also the one where the sheriff gets split in half (great scene). :D
