The Tree of Life

From Terrence Malick, the acclaimed director of such classic films as Badlands, Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, The Tree of Life is the impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s. The film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn) finds himself a lost soul in the modern world, seeking answers to the origins and meaning of life while questioning the existence of faith. Through Malick’s signature imagery, we see how both brute nature and spiritual grace shape not only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.

The Woman in Black

Harry Potter himself stars in James Watkins' (Eden Lake) remake of the classic British chiller The Woman in Black.

The story follows a young lawyer, Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who is ordered to travel to a remote village and sort out a recently deceased client’s papers. Blind ...a new Korean thriller from director Ahn Sang-hoon ('Arang').

The film stars Kim Ha Neul (My Girlfriend Is A Secret Agent) as a blind woman who, after being the only witness to a bloody murder, becomes the target of a vicious killer.

Synopsis:
Quote:

One rainy night, a young blind woman named Soo-ah waits for a taxi on the streets. Just as when the taxi driver seems a bit too nice to her, the car bumps into something big. When Soo-ah comes back to herself, she senses the driver dragging and loading something in the trunk. He says it’s a dog but she knows that he’s keeping something from her. Later, she reports this to the police but they ignore her. The next day, the police visit her about a missing college girl and ask her to testify. Despite the worries of the police, she gives them a series of information that are more reliable than coming from an actual eye witness. As in fact, she was in police academy when she had lost her sight.
As the investigation moves forward, another eye witness, a teenage runaway Gi-sub steps in. He begins to fill in the missing pieces of the crime puzzle. Forming an odd friendship, the two witnesses help the police in finding the suspect until the suspect realizes that they are close on his trail. The serial killer, a master criminal who had been sure that he left no evidence behind, is now on a hunt to get rid of the witnesses. When the killer comes looking for Soo-ah, she calls Gi-sub on her mobile and with his help over the videophone she escapes from the killer’s attack. The killer tracks her down and she realizes that in order to save Gi-sub she would have to risk her own life. She faces the killer herself with only her acute senses to rely on.
''Blind' is due for release across Korea in Summer 2011.

"Six months before the invasion of Iraq, the British military caught and imprisoned a supernatural entity at a secret base in the English countryside. This film documents the days that followed, culminating in a battle that transcends their worst nightmares.

The Incite Mill: 7-Day Death Game...Hideo Nakata’s new psychological thriller!

The script is based on a best-selling novel by Honobu Yonezawa. The story involves ten people who are lured to the mysterious “Anki Mansion” by help wanted ads offering 112,000 yen per hour (about $1,200 USD). Participants are informed that they’ll be recorded 24 hours a day and are given two ominous rules: first, each of them must return to their private room by 10pm each night; and second, the experiment would continue either for 7 days or until there are only two survivors left. If all went according to plan, the participants would go home after 7 days, earning a total of 18 million yen. However, on the second day, one of them is shot to death.

Tomie Unlimited...Beautiful girls, beautiful kills and looks beautifully creepy!

Noboru Iguchi’s upcoming J-horror film, Tomie Unlimited. This marks the eighth film based on Junji Ito’s long-running manga series, and Iguchi has stated that it will be very loyal to the grotesque nature of the source material.
Although the film itself will be rated R-15+ in theaters due to extreme situations—which would seem to back up Iguchi’s assertion—the trailer has been toned down a bit to be safe for younger viewers.

Tomie, a seductive schoolgirl who causes men to fall in love with her and go completely insane with jealousy and possessiveness. She has been killed and dismembered several times in the past, but always regenerates from remaining body parts to begin the process all over again.
