March 21, 2008 - Supernatural and Gilmore Girls star Jared Padalecki is poised to join the New Line-Paramount reboot of the Friday the 13th franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Padalecki is in final negotiations to "play the lead, who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake." His search obviously leads him to hockey mask-wearing serial killer Jason Voorhees. Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company is producing the Marcus Nispel-directed slasher flick. Damian Shannon and Mark Swift penned the screenplay. Friday the 13th is slated to open Feb. 13, 2009 (a Friday). |
March 30, 2008 - John Carpenter has revealed to Fangoria Radio that, despite earlier reports, he has not yet signed on to direct the scary anthology L.A. GOTHIC.
“I’m not sure L.A. GOTHIC will be my next film,” he told them. “They have not made a deal with me. There are other projects I’m interested in doing as well.” Seems like our Sean has hit a bump...:( |
