If you get the chance to see it you should-it was ridiculous to cut it-the gore isn't even gratuitous or OTT.

I watched The Wasp Woman last night. It was released in 59 I think. Not very good but it beats the original The Fly. Love the remake of The Fly by the way. I'm a Brundlefly fan.

August 16th, 1956 the world lost horror great Bela Lugosi.
To honor this star today's movie is (what else)

"Dracula" (1931)

Universal's classic about the vampire king going to England for a bite (sorry). One of the best.

The Shuttered Room (1967) thank you Dara and by proxy Ferox for recommending this.

Oliver Reed was as always outstanding in this little slow burning film that did build up to some very nice memorable and tense scenes. I did also love the old aunt in the lighthouse. Not really a movie to get people into Lovecraft but I did enjoy it nonetheless.

Saw Bela Luguosi's "White Zombie" (1932) this afternoon. Not up there with "Dracula" but still good horror. Nice spooky atmosphere throughout and a nice take on the zombie genre (Bela essentially controls a legion of Haitian zombies with his mind). Only 3.5 out of 5 stars due to not-so-great acting by the rest of the cast. In the public domain, too!
