Circus of the Dead is an indie film out of Texas. It's by director Billy Pon and will get a November DVD release if all goes well. It is an amazing film and Bill Oberst Jr. is outstanding as Papa Corn. http://imageserver.moviepilot.com/ci...656&height=259 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2782232/ |

I know Billy Pon on face book, I messaged him and asked for a screener..I saw that several others had seen it already... and he obliged and sent it to me. I'm also involved in the underground/indie horror scene : ) |

Pontypool (2009)
9/10
Woah, was this one crazy movie! It's a zombie movie... and I don't wanna spoil anything else. The way the virus is transmitted is clever and really disturbing, and the entire film takes place within a radio station, so we mostly hear the effects of the virus through phone calls, but the effects are actually shown firsthand. It's really well-acted, funny, clever, intense, and new. Think 28 Days Later if it was written by a linguist. |
From Dusk Till Dawn
Been a while since I've seen this one. And I almost forgot how great it is. Great cast and characters, good storyline, action, humour, gore,... Freakin' classic! First time I noticed Cheech Marin played 3 parts. |

Good to see another VanBebber fan here... |
CLOVERFIELD (2008). Don't really care for "cam-movies" like THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT/PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, but after a slow beginning and one annoying son of a bitch, this picks up and is pretty darn good. The destruction footage and locale reminded me too much of 9/11. ***
