Yes! I loved both of these cartoons. I loved SR since I was probably 5. I've seen a few over the last 2 years, and some hold up pretty well, but probably not as much as JQ. Do you remember the cartoons, Prince Planet (played TV mid 60s into early 70s on UHF stations in Chicago) and Battle of the Planets (1978-1985)? The former you probably saw as a kid. The later was very good (IGN 44th best animated series) but may have been after your time. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...creenshots.jpg https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...he_Planets.gif |
At least no one can talk about PC (a term I hate how it's used today) with Battle of the Planets. The bad guy in that was fixed for the US version back then before my time.
War of the Worlds TV - This one not the mini series. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of...019_TV_series) I can't recommend this show unless you want to just watch the first few episodes. Those are pretty good. But afterwards, the show starts to introduce some soap opera elements. And those aren't resolved in this season. I was surprised that the show received a second season as those bad elements left me not wanting to continue the show. But I guess I'll see how it ends as the final scene was kind of promising. |
Fright Club
New show on Discovery+ with the Ghost Brothers and Jack Osbourne. They review various videos of "spooky" stuff, and decide if they think it's for real. Kinda boring so far. I'd rather see the Ghost Brothers bust some ghosts! |
Crime Scene: The Vanishing At the Cecil Hotel
Very interesting documentary about the disappearance of Elisa Lam. On Netflix. The Cecil is one of the hotels that American Horror Story: Hotel is based on. Specifically, the design. |
The Equalizer
A reboot starring Queen Latifah. I liked it. So far. ::wink:: |

Then there was WSNS-TV Channel 44... now that channel had a lot of Japanese shows reworked with English for American kids including Prince Planet in the early 70s. Maybe you never found Ch 44? Ch 44 also had Space Giants (1965-67) US airing early 1970, Johnny Sokko And His Flying Robot (1967-68) US airing 1969-80's), Ultraman (1966-67) US airing 1966-80s, and Spectreman (1971-72) US airing probably 1977). |

I remember those SPIDER-MAN cartoons! -That cool music::cool::! And I'm sure I checked out 44 at some point, just not as clear to Me as 32 was. For a couple of years up there, would start watching Bears games; didn't really care so much, was just hoping to fit in at school somehow. Remember Walter Payton was a God and He really was too good for the team than...they could be quite erratic. Also was really getting into Hard music than with KISS, especially decorating my room with posters of them and others. Because I have too much time on my hands::big grin::, I remember VERY well Channel 44 out of Oakland CA in 1971, especially OUTER SPACE THEATER Saturday 2;30, SCIENCE FICTION THEATER 7:30, Kick Boxing and Championship Wresting at 5 with Pat Patterson, Rocky "Soul Man" Johnson, "Luscious" Lars Anderson, The Great Mephisto and Ernie Ladd sticking out. With Hank Renner commentating-quite animated!-and the Lovely Miss Wrestling (putting a Blue Ribbon on the Winner's name) later becoming Miki Garcia::love::::love:: Miss January 1973 in PLAYBOY |

I thought the Manhunter movie was the best of the Lecter series. I only watched a few episodes of the previous TV series. I didn't even know there was a new one.

The Great British Baking Show |
Resident Alien - Loving this.
Superman & Lois. Interesting. Kind of reminds me of Smallville a little? Which is a good thing - compared to all the other cw shows I feel like a certain quality has been missing for some time. Some cool twists and turns, and an unusual mystery. I like it ok. |

Fantastic so far, while I doubt many have yet to see it, if you’re in that camp, I highly recommend it.. so far |

Another bland filler episode though...their go-to for making it seem like we get a season worth of storyline. Never do though.

Though to be honest had we not had the time leap it wouldn't be at all necessary. These aren't the parts I was talking about though...when the storyline moves forwards it's all good. I just didn't see the need for "4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 months after that, 8 months after that" and introducing another superfluous character just to say where he's been...THAT is the part that annoyed me. I could have done a whole episode of Carol and Daryl, no problem. |

Last night watched 63 Up, Fright Club, and a little of The Voice. |
Started watching through "Alias" again, but I was pretty tired.
Aside from a few fight scenes, gadgets and effects showing their age a little I still quite liked it. The first episode was pretty full-on. |
Finally got around to watching "The Haunting Of Hill House" on Hammer's recommendation.
I thought it was excellent until the ending. I read a little about it afterwards and saw several negative reviews that talked about it being slow and one big monologue and that it had no suspense and wasn't even a horror tv show. I disagree with all of that. I thought the pacing was excellent, it was only the ending that I found somewhat irritating in that we didn't really resolve anything to do with the house itself. A co-worker told me they watched it and also felt let down by the ending but it was otherwise excellent. She also told me the second season "The Haunting of Bly Manor" wasn't nearly as good. I'll probably still check it out to draw my own conclusions as I usually do but overall I didn't feel like I wasted my time with The Haunting Of Hill House and thought much of it was very well done. |
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Instead it's more like well the house isn't really evil, mom got some bad advice from an insane woman ghost but hey, anyone who dies in the house gets to stay together forever so we all get to be a happy ghost family together in death. There was just so much more that could have been included that was just ignored which is the frustrating part because it was so good up to that point. There was so much more story to explore. I still have to watch The Host that you recommended. Hopefully I'll check that one out someday soon. |
