Microsoft Flight Simulator X Deluxe Edition

This game is enormous! 24,000 airports around the world are modelled. You can fly around the globe with the entire earth topographically modelled (although outside of major centres and landmarks there is 'stock' scenery). You can synchronise the game's weather with real world weather reports on the internet. On top of "free flight" there are missions, and a flight school training module, as well as multiplayer over the web.

I haven't had a copy of Flight Simulator since SubLogic Flight Simulator II on the Commodore Amiga which must have been around 1987. Prior to that, had it on the Commodore 64. It is amazing to see the progress that has occurred in the last 20 years (!).

sphynx and the cursted mummy (Gamecube)
stop asking me

bloodrayne 05-16-2007 05:51 AM

I finished Silent Hill 4...Then I thought I'd try the 'New Fear' thing...Umm, I don't know if I'm missing something or what, but I'm over halfway through it and it's EXACTLY the same as the first time...What is supposed to be the point?

Anyway...When I finish this, I'm getting back to Resident Evil 4 (on Game Cube)

THEN I'm playing Geist

And hoping like crazy that they release Silent Hill 5 for PS2, but it looks like that's not gonna happen...I REALLY don't wanna get a PS3, I've heard way too many bad things about it...

I wonder if Resident Evil 5 will only be for the PS3 and Wii...hmm

Dante'sInferno 05-16-2007 07:59 AM

You are officially better at video games then i am.How was the ending?:D

I got the lame ending (The 21 Assumptions) because I didn't know you were supposed to protect the neighbor girl, and I hacked her with the ax MYSELF a few times because she was annoying as hell, constantly bitching, and in the way...I also ditched her whenever I got the chance...So, she ended up becoming possessed and commiting suicide...Not that I would have minded THAT, but it gave me the shitty ending...I'm only finishing this the second time to get a better ending...Now that I know better :p

I played the entire thing with only melee weapons to get a better rating...But...That wasn't enough...You gotta protect the girl...

Hah!That's sad!Now i'll puposely wack her in the head a few times, then i'll watch her die!

If you do, you'll get the bad ending, too...I found all 52 items, and killed over 600 enemies...But, that wasn't enough either

Don't save or continue too often...That'll count against you, too

I'm over halfway through the second time and I have saved once, and continued once...But, only because I had to...Dustin went to work and the baby doesn't exactly let me play video games :)

Dante'sInferno 05-16-2007 09:39 AM

I'll try to avoid that then.

Geddy 05-17-2007 03:28 PM

I just bought street fighter anniversary collection, mega man aniversary collection, silent hill 4 the room ,and city of villains, but my crappy computer won't run city of villains.

chaibill 05-17-2007 06:26 PM

are you talking about silent hill 4 or this "next fear" what is that

newb 05-17-2007 06:35 PM

Still playing F.E.A.R. on the 360 and STALKER on the PC.

Phalanx 05-17-2007 10:30 PM

Echo night beyond - A weird, very creepy game for the ps2, which would be great if not for "I move like a slug in a spacesuit/no weapons" syndrome. Good sound and atmos...but that's all...coulda been good though. Gonna trade in this one.

The girl got "Juiced", a NFS clone. It's alright with a fair soundtrack, but not as polished as the other series, we'll maybe keep this one.
A bit annoying and gimmicky though...

I'll probably get into "the warriors" over the weekend.

GorePhobia 05-17-2007 11:25 PM

Right now I am playing NHL 07 for PS2. I am in the middle of a Franchise mode with the Philadelphia Flyers. My team record is 30-1-0 so far in a 82 game season.

When you beat Silent Hill 4 (and wait for the credits to end), it gives you the option to play it as 'New Fear'...But, so far it's exactly the same as the first time....Maybe when you finish it in this mode it has a different ending or 'gives' you something extra...I'm not sure yet, I haven't been able to finish it this second time because I haven't had a chance to play...

Angra 05-18-2007 09:20 AM

Still playing "Final fantasy 12" on PS2.

One helluva long game.

Dante'sInferno 05-18-2007 10:56 AM

Halo 2.Man i love shooting aliens and watching them squel like little piggies.

Phalanx 05-18-2007 05:38 PM

Trialled (hired) a couple games last night for ps2.

Need for Speed: Carbon. The girl plays those...wanted to see if she could get the hang of them on the ps2, as we've only had them on pc thus far, as I thought, the ps2 had easier to use controlls, as per GTA.
Seems like an alright game, much the same as the rest of them with a few extra features thrown in...oh, and the guy from battlestar galactica.

YAKUZA - Pretty decent...feels a bit like Shenmue meets GTA meets The Warriors. Decent storyline. I'll probably get this eventually as it seems like a game I'd be willing to play through, despite 2 annoying factors.
1: For some reason there's subtitles over the words written in the game, even though they're in english. Turning the subs off only worked for the audio conversations in the fmvs and ingame.
2: It loads every 2 minutes. It's like you play a tiny little portion, and then it has to load yet again. Too much of that shit.
However, it's not a bad game...a little arcadey, but fun...like I said, this'll be an eventual purchase for me...Going to EB today to grab a couple games for trade-in.

Phalanx 05-19-2007 08:13 AM

Traded in, as I said I would.
Got 2 games for 4...ha...

Anyways, the two games were;

*X-MEN LEGENDS, which seems "ok"...not thus far as great as I've seen some claim, but it seems alright. Good comic-book "feel" to it. I have slight issues with the "only above" viewpoint, and no initial character selection screen.
Does the second one recolve the viewpoint issue at all? Because if it gets to me enough, this one might be going back...

*Jet Li - Rise to Honour.
Now this, for me is one of those games that I just plugged in and immediately liked. Got the elements I mentioned liking above in "yakuza", but a faster, cooler fighting system, better controls, and I don't get a loading screen every couple minutes. Pre-rendered "press now" kind've stunts thrown in are simple and easy to use enough that you can actually look at them, and appreciate their beauty. Storyline...uh...kind've 80's hongkong martial arts vibe goin' on, some nice cutscenes.
But yeah...good fights, and it seems that later there's some gunplay too. This one looks like a keeper to me, for sure...and I'd reccomend it.

Dante'sInferno 05-21-2007 10:05 AM

Halo 2,can't wait for number 3!

Dante'sInferno 05-21-2007 10:31 AM

Halo,i love this game.

Geddy 05-21-2007 04:00 PM

Doom 3: Ressurection Of Evil.

Geddy 05-26-2007 09:42 AM

Guitar Hero, damn that games addicting!

Despare 05-26-2007 08:52 PM

Crackdown and the Halo 3 Beta

Phalanx 05-26-2007 09:06 PM

Still going through "rise to honour" the Jet Li game on ps2.
I don't really like the gunplay sequences, but they're "alright"...the hand to hand/foot/head/knee...etc...combat is great though, and the control system is one of the best I've seen, works perfectly for this type of game.
The gameplay is moderately difficult, it's not a cakewalk game...I have to admit it downright pisses me off here'n there, but overall it IS good. The music and cinematics are all there, and the whole thing is like playing through a 90's martial arts/crime movie.
If you're into being challenged, give it a go.

I'm making the girl play through god of war 1. Bought it again (new ps2 for the first time in a while, see), as it's a game worth having and replaying for sure.
It's good fun to revisit, seeing all the little things I'd forgotten, I mostly watch her but jump on every now and then...Great, savage, epic game. I'd suggest playing this if you haven't, especially if you're a fan of games like the LOTR ones based on the movies...it's a little like those, but imho, MUCH better. Truly one of the ps2's greatest...and again, cannot wait for the sequel.

Dante'sInferno 05-27-2007 05:28 PM

Fight Night round 3 on the PS3,my new favorite game EVER.

Phalanx 06-03-2007 06:07 AM

Finished Rise To Honour, and I have to say, what a pisswah of a last fight...again and again I kept fucvking it up because the game neglects to tell you about something you can do which otherwise makes it impossible to complete...what a bitch...
An interesting game, but the pissed off to pleased ratio was a little on the negative side for me.

Playing through the Warriors now...just finished the tagging competition level...what a sonofabitchofalevel that was...ans then the fight and rooftop scene, I swear I just about got japped!
Pretty good game...I LOVE how well it ties into the storyline and feel of what's to this day one of my favourite movies. I don't think it'll have quite the replayability of rockstars GTA titles, but hey, we'll see. Some cool bonuses too.

Freak 06-03-2007 03:56 PM

Was playing Shadow run and Guitar Hero 2 but then my 360 froze and when I turned it back on I got the three red rings.I' am really crushed about this. It's to late to take it back to the store I got it from and I dont wanna send it away casue I don't wanna wait that long.So I think I'm just gonna buy a core system and use my HD from my old system.I have it unplugged right now and I'm hoping that when I plug it back up it will work.God I hope it does.

VampiricClown 06-03-2007 03:59 PM

Ninja Gaiden....This game is hard.

deathrider 06-04-2007 12:44 PM

I've just finished Tomb Raider: Anniversary, it was an awesome game. It's a remake of the original Tomb Raider game , but using all Lara's new moves and the free flow feeling that Tomb Raider: Legend had.

I would recommend it to anybody who enjoyed any of the earlier Raider games.

Wensday13 06-04-2007 08:24 PM
