I thought I am Legend was an alright film as far as action films go. But story can be so much more - and that is evident by some of the earlier adaptations.
The action was "big" and "spectacular" but the film, the characters didn't have the same depth and charm as in, say, The Omega Man.
So yeah, as a SFX spectacular it was ok, as a story it was pretty forgettable.

I thought the creatures looked awful. It was okay when you only caught glimpses of them.....but once you started seeing a lot of them, it took away from the film, in my opinion.
But I admit, I might have been more forgiving of that fact had I not went into the film REALLY wanting to see the book done justice. It COULD have been great, and like I said, it started out promisingly enough. But the last few minutes were just....bad. |
