Noises 0ff - 10 out of 10 I loved that film - I remember laughing until my sides were sore - I haven't actually got it though think it's one to add to the collection if I can find it - it's from around late '80's isn't it?

A local theatre company is doing a production of Noises Off to open their next season this fall. I dont know if there would be any roles for me, but that's never stopped me from auditioning before!

The Bourne Identity
Pretty good, if not a little out there. I found some parts to be stupid though, and din't like the characters, but that doesn't make the movie so, 7/10 |

To Catch a Thief
This is the kind of movie that would be impossible to make in this day and age. The story relies on characters more than spectacle, and acting more than action. There are plenty of scenes that modern audiences would deem "slow" or "boring", but in fact these are the high points of the film. The chemistry between Cary Grant and Grace Kelly was superb, and I must admit to a few chuckles at their many double-entendres. Their characters were both great, Grant played one heck of a great thief! The plot kept me interested throughout, despite a rather obvious outcome. And who could forget that great opening scene? Hats off to Hitchcock for that one! Overall, this was pretty fun. It wasn't an incredible film, but I enjoyed it. 7.5/10 |

I'm in the middle of I Robot with Will smith for the second time, and, I still think this movie is utter garbage... |
Two of the worst pieces of shit I've seen in a long time: Da Vinci Code and Dead Scared (why Brad Douriff wastes his time on trash shit like this I'll never know).

Good Night, and Good Luck.

Wake of Death ..
some j-c vandamme film i got for a couple of bucks .. i have to admit this film suprised me .. it shot for the moon as far as unknown actioners go and it didnt do too badly. a lot more thought than usual for a film of this kind was given to creating atmosphere .. some good cinematography, editing, and a decent performance from van damme.. it kept me awake when i was dead tired ... not bad at all. |

Robocop 2
The first Robocop film is one of my all-time favourite movies and easily one of the greatest action films ever made. Though this first sequel doesn't quite live up to it's predecessor, it's still a great movie. Peter Weller returns as the title character, and does as good a job as he did in his first outing as the character. The rest of the returning cast do great jobs as well, and so do the new cast members. Tom Noonan of Manhunter fame fills the role of the main villain this time around, and while he does a good job with what he has, the character was rather poorly written. Nowhere near as awesome as Clarence Boddicker from part 1, though I must say he gets pretty cool once he gets "upgraded". I think the real strength of the film lies in the fact that there are few, if any, black and white characters. Most of them have their flaws or their virtues, even heroes like Robocop and villains like Cain. The only purely evil character I can think of is The Old Man, who I must say is a great, subtle villain. Last but not least, I have to mention the humor of the film. The scene after Robocop has had the extra objectives installed and attempts to arrest a corpse was hilarious! Overall, this is a great film. A lot different and not quite as good as it's predecessor, but still a lot of fun and really good. 8/10 |
Return of the Living Dead 4
+ Worst. dailogue. ever. + Nerdy girl had potential to be cool, but the actress oftern came off asa porn star trying to go legit. + Zombie babies were cool. + Great effects, but sometimes overdone and very rubber looking. + I am sick of cars never starting. + Also hated the "friend turned zombie" - acted the same, only with makeup. Other zombies weren't that way, why should he be an exception. + Zombies died with shots to the body, not only brains. + Did I mentioned WORST DAILOGUE EVER. + Repition of "suspensful" scenes made the entire thing boring. + Emotion scenes were ... well, they made me want to cry, but not for that reason. BECAUSE THEY WERE SO FUCKING BAD. + The girl had safety on the gun, but somehow right after the car crash it was off. She got up, looked around, shot, she didn't have time to turn the safety off. HM DO I SMELL PLOT HOLE. + This is suppose to be comedy? Laughably bad? NOT EVEN THAT. + 2585 Zombie attack, yet the public has not been informed how to properly dispose of zombies? That should be taught in schools after so many attacks. + Decent ending. Probably the worst movie I have bothered to sit through entirely. Dead Birds was... close. For those of you who like Dead Birds - sorry, I thought it was bad. Maybe I'll post my thoughts on it later. |
Phantom of the Paradise.
A very stylish film, and stands out today just as much as I would imagine it did back when it was released. It's beutiful, the directing, the set pieces, the costumes, the makeup, the story, just beautiful. The creature - I loved. The tiny man - I hated. Great scenes, great emotion, and some really memorable moments. I won't go in depth, but it's a definite reccomendation. |

First Blood
Screw Rocky & Copland. First Blood is Stallone's best movie. John Rambo is such an awesome character that I used it as my Halloween costume 2 years ago. Anyways, this movie is a solid action film. Fast paced and well acted (largely in part because Rambo is a man of very few words). Not too much gore but plenty of fighting and shooting violence. B Walk the Line I dont know... Maybe I heard too many good things about it before I saw it but I dont see what all the fuss was about and I happen to be a big Johnny Cash fan. It was fine I suppose, but nothing spectacular and certainly not something I would have considered an Oscar worthy film. On that same note, I thought Reese Witherspoon was good, but again, not spectacular or reward worthy as June Carter. I was let down, but it wasnt terrible. It just isnt as great as everyone says. The Toybox
Not a film I'd not reccomend, but not a film I would. Surely you wouldn't be dissapointed if you have the chance to see it, but you shouldn't go out of your way to do so. That being said, if your a fan of the independant stuff - you NEED to see it. Heh. Things I really liked were mainly how well established the characters were. Loved the entire family and how well constructed, and however cliche, each member was. It all made sense and made the first of the film very enjoyable. I also liked how well the camera work was done - the best I've seen of these kind of budget movies - handheld cameras were used, but you'd never suspect. Until the later scenes. That was kind of... a bad point, but was done on purpose to show the cracking of Brian's psyche. It gave me a headache because it was overdone, however. Oh, and I liked Conrad's hair. The father's voice sounded so familiar. I think he voiced a cartoon character, did he not? OH WAIT. He sounds like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit. I swear! Ok, maybe it's just the accent? But it's dead on! Things I didn't like were how my DVD seemed to strain on the soundtrack, produced a very... hrash grinding sound. Not sure if it's the track or my eqiuptment. Probably the latter, but this is the only movie it's done it for. I also wasn't too fond of the flash cartoons. Maybe if they were done a bit better. I didn't realize it was a slasher, but it's up there with the best of that subgenre. Not above Sleepaway Camp, though, I don't think anything can get higher on my list. :) |
