No interesting alcohol for me, just shy of OD'ing on painkillers so didnt think mixing the two would be wise.

Currently drinking a bottle of Michelob Ultra. Nothing special, but it was all that Will had... No taste whatsoever.

Via Vecchio Rose, a very nice drop of wine indeed.

fortunato 09-22-2009 09:05 PM

I just found a bar close to my house tonight that had one of my all-time favorite beers, Founders Breakfast Stout, on draught.

So I had one. And it was delicious.

The place has an incredible beer selection, so I'll be going back soon.

Elvis_Christ 09-22-2009 09:48 PM

A beer made especially for breakfast? haha :D

Haha, well they call it that because it's made with oatmeal and coffee. I'm sure it would go great for breakfast, though.

i couldnt find a pic in photobucket - but the last things i've had to drink are bottled premade motts bloody caesars (extra spicy).

not too bad if you're too lazy or unprepared to make a proper one

So, one of you wanna enlighten me on what 'clamato' juice is? (I'm English, humor me).

The_Return 10-02-2009 05:41 PM

Trying out some Canadian vodka this evening:

Breaking into the fall drinks,

http://www.unnecessaryumlaut.com/wp-...umpkin_405.jpg

Never had this particular pumpkin ale before, but it's really not bad. It's very easy to drink and nicely spiced. Definitely goes down well with the season.

newb 10-10-2009 07:06 AM

Had one of these last night

http://beerohbeer.cloudywithsunnyspe...9/IMG_0152.JPG

a very hearty stout for sure.

I thought I posted about the Autumn Beer I had the other night.....seems to have vanished...anyway it went something like this.

I love Octoberfest beers....my fav seasonal...not overly fond of the spice or pumpkin beers...it would have to be real subtle. Had one of these....

it didn't float my boat......apples & cinnamon do not make a good beer IMO

BUT THE LABEL IS PRETTY COOL

Clamato (a portmanteau of "clam" and "tomato") is a trademark of the Mott's company which denotes a drink made primarily of water, reconstituted tomato juice concentrate, and high-fructose corn syrup. It is flavored with monosodium glutamate, spices, and a small amount of clam broth. It is also referred to colloquially as "clamato juice." Clamato was produced in its current form beginning in 1966 by the Duffy-Mott company in Hamlin, New York, by two employees who wanted to create a Manhattan clam chowder style cocktail by combining tomato juice and clam broth with spices. They also named the new cocktail Mott's Clamato and secured the trademark for the new brand. According to Mott's, the Clamato Caesar is one of the top selling cocktails across Canada. The brand was owned by Cadbury-Schweppes after the company bought Mott's in 1982. It is now owned by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group after the business was spun-off of Cadbury-Schweppes in 2008.

That's a pretty good stout.

I'm having an Atwater Voodoovater Doppelbock.
A decent doppelbock. Not my favorite.

Getting into the season myself:

http://www.united-nations-of-beer.co...n-ale-5713.jpg

Pumpkin Ale, from Great Lakes Brewery. Wasn't really what I expected, but overall not bad.

Enjoying a Bell's Octoberfest:

Probably the best Octoberfest brew I've had in recent memory.

Not bad, not enough flavor though. I'll finish the sixer.

I love Bell's Fortunato... the brewery is only about 2 hours away and you can get some good food and beer after a tour.

Yeah, they have some great brews. I'm awfully jealous. There are a lot of excellent breweries in Michigan.
Are you close to Founders too?

Ah, lucky. How's their brewery? Have you ever been?

They are one of my favorite microbreweries. Their Breakfast Stout is absolutely killer.

That sentence doesn't make sense!

We had a party and the Highlife that was left was so bad we ended up cooking with it rather than drinking with it.
