The Colony (SLIGHT SPOILERS) -

Someone here reviewed this movie. I don't think they liked it that much. I didn't think it was a horrible movie. In fact it's setup pretty well. They got strong actors. Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton are in it. I like the setting. I'm always looking for good horror movies in a winter setting. It has some nice shots of the various snowed over areas. I think where the movie lacks creativity is in the horror monsters. They aren't really explained and very generic modern horror monsters. Laurence Fishburne's character mentions how he saw people acting like animals or something but never that this is what he saw. A lot of people dislike the movie Doomsday. But that movie did more with the idea of cannibals and people acting crazy. In The Colony it's like they are like that because the movie needs horror monsters. So of course the main bad guy is big, bald, almost unstoppable, and has sharp teeth. Generic. I thought the funniest scene was the bridge scene. If anyone has a classic flip Zippo lighter you know how fast the fluid runs out in those.

THE GHOST OF GOODNIGHT LANE 2014

Starring Billy Zane, Lacy Chabert and Danielle Harris

Mixed feelings on this one but for the most part, enjoyed it.
A film crew get trapped in their office building with a vengeful ghost but its kind of a neat twist who that ghost turns out to be.

Its funny and a little trashy but delivers a neat story.

Wanted to add that Richard Tyson (3 o'clock High and Two Moon Junction) also starred briefly which is why I watched the movie in the first place. He's changed but haven't we all!

To my surprise it actually had a few effective scares. An alright B-horror/comedy.

I watched The Last Days on netflix. It was unexpectedly good. The plot is an epidemic sickness prevents anyone from going outdoors or else they experience some kind of fatal, panic-related aneurysm. It is an apocalyptic movie, and reminds me of that Julianne Moore movie 'Blindness'. If you enjoyed Blindess, you will like The Last Days.

Thank you!

Sounded so incredibly low budget that I skipped it in the first place.

Video Games: The Movie 7/10

One for the nerds.

You definitely have to be, or have been, a gamer to really enjoy this nostalgia trip. It's a little messy coz it's not made all chronologically and i would have liked to see more games shown, but it was still an entertaining and informative watch.

That "Cloud" idea sounds crazy.

A fascinating, in-depth insight into, what could have been, THE sci-fi film of the millenium, and much, MUCH bigger than the Star Wars franchise. The mind boggles by all the concept art and ideas which Jodorowsky & team had conjured up for their never-made cult classic, and it's a shame we never got to see the end result. Would have kicked Lynch's version's ass for sure.

Highly recommended, specially to the fans of the books.
