No, it wasn't Flesh Eating Mothers. Someone else suggested that movie to me as well, though that wasn't it. Thanks, though.

please help, again!!!

Need help finding a horror film for my wife. She thinks it was made in the 40s or 50s and is sure it's in black and white. she doesn't know much, but what she does know is this. The film is a ghost story/supernatural type affair, rather than a horror, and she thinks the name of it, is something like 'carmel' or 'carmella' or something like that. All she can remeber of the film is that she thinks it's one of those 'haunted house' type things and that there is a wind or something blowing through the house, and the wind itself is a ghost of a gypsy (which is called carmella or whatever) (she's pretty certain about it being a gypsy). However she can't remember any specific scene or any actors/actresses in it That's all i can tell you, however my wife is pretty sure that the title of the film is also the same name as the ghost/gyspy in it. akin to how the film 'carrie' is about a girl called carrie. i'm sorry i'm giving you so very little to go on, however i do know that there are a lot of classic horror fans on this site, and i desperately hope someone can help me. thanks for any help you can give me.

Help with movie title

First of all, whats up man! The brotherhood of Gore!
Anyway, my pal here, saw a slasher, but has no idea what's it called!
Heres what he told me: the begining tells where's the action (costa rikha or something), there's an island, a teenage camp, a killer in the woods with a mask. the killer turns out to be one of the teenagers in the camp.

EDIT: also he remembered that Character name is in the title

Say anything you think of, it might just help.

Thanks for being with us. Our service is over. You have to die.

Your description encompasses about 200 sh*tty slasher flicks. Maybe a more specific description might be in order...
Sleepaway Camp (1983)?

Somebody draw a comic sketch of monster killing, and then this actually happened in real life. in the end the person who drew comics finds out that his drawings had a consequences in real life and then he burns the drawings in order to stop murders. but he forgott to burn one main picture of monster and monster kills him. 80's horror novel

Long ago I read a paperback book about these lodgers who were being stalked by this invisible, demonic force. The first chapter of the book describes a serene forest somewhere in New England. A deer wonders into either a pasture or a near a pond; it's winter, there's snow on the ground. The deer is being stalked by a bear. The bear attacks the deer and just before the bear delivers the deadly blow this invisible force snatches up the bear, rips the skin from it and drags it's dead carcass through the forest.

I remember these lodgers happened across this invisible demon's lair where there were literally hundreds of skeletal remains and rotted carcasses and they were so terrified they tried to leave but the thing followed them back to the lodge. I wish, wish I knew the name of this book. All I remember is that the cover is of a dark forest with sunlight barely peeking through, and that the title was one word that started with a "P". If anyone could help me with this I would so greatly appreciate it. You have no idea. Thank you!

What monster movie?

Hi all,

Please help me out here. When I was about ~10 years old (~1982) my older brother rented this monster movie and I cant remember the name of it. The thing is that I keep it on my mind all the time and it just wont go away or reveal its name for me. So I just gotta see it again and let my mind rest from it.

What I remember:
A team of people (scientist?) investigates some abnormal activity i a big forrest. (canada?) Its winter. Huge clawmarks on trees... They find some wierd, monster-babys lying dead in a river... And offcourse they find the mother monster. Its big like a grizzly but without fur.... They try to keep/kidnap some of the monster babys...

My memory is really vague since it's some 25 years ago I saw it. I belive on the cover is monster-baby inside an egg with big claws... Colours goes in greenish/yellow...

I've searched all over the place and talk to people about it but no luck. I hope you can help me out here...

Thanks!

I need help figuring out a certain movie.

Hey guys, I need help searching for a specific movie title, and I know it's horror but all i can remember is the movie cover of the VHS i rented once and I cant remember it.

It's like green a demon devil with horns and well there are cheerleaders or something in the movie with high schoolers.

Any help be appreciated,

kalasjnikov 11-30-2009 01:50 PM

Got a copy of it today. Watched it and I must say it wasnt all that bad, actually. I really like the mood in thrillers from the seventies. A simple story, badass ugly monsters but still, far from crap ;)

urgeok2 11-30-2009 03:45 PM

i saw it in the theatre when it came out.

it was in the last wave of good horror flicks before the 80's went to shit.

Elvis_Christ 11-30-2009 04:03 PM

Seems like the end of each decade produces some stinkers when it comes to horror. Everything seems to get derivative and the studios just seem to go on auto pilot producing the same movie all the time.

well, i've said it before but it bears repeating ..

the 70's were a special time for horror. It was geared at adults. major adult stars, major adult directors. the genre was taken seriously. it wasn't tongue in cheek, it wasn't about fake tits and indestructable shambling masked killers.

it was satan, monsters, the unknown.

i blame home video for what happened to horror. The Home Video market made backyard slashers incredibly profitable. Kids could see 2 or 3 pairs of big fake tits, splashing blood, and crude jokes without their parents knowing. You could make any crap film you wanted - direct to video. as long as it had a suggestive name, a lurid cover, and at least one pic of a girl in ripped lingerie on the back - it would rent. I know there is a lot of nostalgic love for this era - many folks got their first exposure to horror with these films.

but for the most part they arent good. they are more often than not sad imitations of better films - starring kids (because kids want to watch kids) who cant act, directed by untalented first time directors.

The genre became a joke.

it wasnt until just recently - and i'll credit the japanese with this - that horror began to be taken seriously again. The japanese were making profitable influential films mixing their old cultural fears with the obsession for modern technology and it worked. Adults were once again featured in horror films. the genre became to be taken seriously and that eventually lead to the strongest boom of horror we've seen since my beloved 70's.

there's still a fair bit of crap but i can easily find 15 - 20 films that are modern classics to me made in the last 10 years. and tons of excellent films that fall just below the 'classic' benchmark.

i dont think horror has ever been stronger as a film genre.

we dont have the grit of the 70's anymore - or those classic actor/directors
but there are certainly a new breed of young clever directors working now who really do care about horror and are trying to do new things.

Great film. One of Frankenheimer's best. Still remember the old Injun calling the monster "Katahdin".

I have the book too, by David Seltzer. Makes for a really fascinating read.

I know this is supposed to be in the 'need help' thread. However i've had it up in there for about 2 weeks and i haven't received any help or clues, plus other fans looking for film titles keep posting in front of it, and therefore it's getting forgotten or missed, also thought that it might get a few more views as a standalone thread. Try The Uninvited (1944), there's a ghost of a woman named Carmel in that one and it seems to fit the bill.

Santa murderer ... or sth

Hi,

I'm looking for a movie, which is probably not really a horror but it's about killing, my mum has been talking about bout it ... it's from between 1970 and 1990 she thinks, as she saw it when she was younger.

Se says it's about a young boy staying with his sick grandpa in his castle and there's a toy chamber with new inventions or something ... it's christmas eve and the boy [about 9 or 10] is waiting for santa underneath a table with a camera and binoculars. then when santa comes it's not what he expected as he starts stealing stuff [even santa cookies] then he somehow hears the boy and starts i think chasing after him, and the boy fights back making traps of his toys and using them for ex. putting a camera in a toy car to see where the guy was and such ...

the santa also wanted to kill the grandfather as he wasn't able to run so the boy helped out somehow, going over the roof with him and putting him in a knight suit where he later faints and the boy revives him somehow ...

as you can see it's all a bit blurry but apparently it's a french movie ....

any help is appreciated =)

Thank you,
Anna

Title of strange old 1980's film

Hi everyone, I'm trying to find the title of a film I saw several times in the 1980's/early 1990's when I was very young. My memories are only very vague. I remember it was about a boy who had nightmare or visions of a ghost or creature of some sort. I think he was able to traval through a green mist in his basement to defeat it or something like that. I also recall a scene where he received a key from the mouth of a puppet or something similar. I know it's not much to go on, but if anyone can help I would be glad to hear from you.

desparately seeking movie...

Hello, I'm searching for a movie that I've seen in the late 90's. I saw it at an old schoolfriend's house. I'm pretty sure it was an indie film because I can't seem to find it by description. I watched only the ending portion of it, a woman was being held captive by a male captor who was torturing her. I remember the movie was always very dark, as in lacking lighting and she was kept in a dark room. I remember a vivid scene in which he tears off a toenail (or fingernail, can't remember) and the woman doesn't even flinch, the captor freaks out immediately thereafter, realizing he cannot torture her anymore. That's all I can remember. Hope someone can help me out here I really want to see it again.
Thanks.

Help with 2 movie names

Hey whats up guys, I have been buying tons of movies for my horror collection lately and there are 2 I have seen that I just cannot remember the names. If anyone can help that would be awesome

1st movie
Pretty sure the setting was overseas in England or France, these people steal some money and are escaping the town. They go to a random hotel in the middle of nowhere (out in the country) and these crazy people who run the hotel (its like a crazy family) start capturing, killing and enslaving the people. The family is run by a man who was a nazi, and has kidnapped several people that are now in his family. He wants to make his newly kidnapped girl a new wife for one of his family members. It was a really brutal but cool style movie, kind of reminded me of the style of hostel (though that generally is not the style of horror movie I enjoy). Was probably made around 2003-2006 if I was to guess.

2nd movie
These people move into an inherited house and they soon find out a story of some miner children who were buried alive in the nearby mines. Some weird stuff starts happening and they come to find out the miner children are haunting the land nearby. Also a new school movie, probably made around 2005 or 2006

Thanks guys!
chris

80's movie with invisbile monster: THE ******

This is a movie I saw on TV back in 1986, but don't know the title. I do know it starts with "The." Here are the details: the plot is about some hideous creature that kills people. It seems to move along very fast, because the camera shows the first-hand perspective of the monster as it moves.
The only two main details I recall is, there was a repairman sitting in his van, unaware that the creature was stealthily approaching him. The man is attempting to start his van, which doesn't start. The creature, which is actually INVISIBLE attacks him, and blood is splattered on the windshield and everywhere else. Even though the man isn't killed, his face starts bubbling and mutating.
In another scene is another character who seems to have psychic powers. He says about the man in the van, "He's changing!"
The next detail I remember is the final showdown. There is another man battling the creature, which apparently becomes visible. It looks like a dragon. During the battle, there is one scene where the creature is biting the man's bloody arm.
Somehow, the creature is killed because it is seen burning. And the movie ends there.

This is much as I can remember. I hope any horror/sci-fi buff can help me out on this one. I'd love to see this one again, but I MUST KNOW THE NAME!!!!
Thanks

UFO and YELLOW SCHOOL BUS

In the 1990s on Entertainment Tonight there was a segment about a new UFO movie.

The movie is about a group of teenagers :D:confused::p who come to the same place every year for some reason.
It involves a yellow :)SCHOOL BUS:).
They showed a road that went over a hill in the distance and a bright light coming over the hill although you just see the shine of the light.
