Hmmm...watched so many in the last few days...Can't remember 'em all...Let's see...

Cursed...I thought it was better than what I heard from most people

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation...Not great, but worth watching (I'd seen it when it first came out, but Dustin had never seen it)...Was never interested in buying it before, but it came in a two-pack with Hostel (which we haven't watched yet)

Garbage Pail Kids...For old times' sake...Still terrible...lol

Leviathan...So-So

The Jacket...I loved this one

Needful Things...FINALLY replaced it...Got it in a boxed set with Carrie, Misery, and The Dark Half, all of which I already own, but just in case they 'disappear' like Needful Things, I got backups...AND, Dustin had never seen Needful Things, so I had to show it to him

Also...Bought Dead And Breakfast, but haven't had a chance to watch it...

Portia De Rossi right? I love her, I really need to go see this!

And alky, I just wonder, why do you think Scream 2 is so bad? Elaborate!

I'm not sure I know who that is. But you'll love this movie, very humorous with good gore.

I actually don't hate Scream, though I think it's the worst of the series. I just never settled down with the atmosphere, so by the end of the movie I never clicked with it. It was decent, pretty good, actually, as far as sequels go- I just didn't like it as much as 1 or 3.

I just like giving you a hard time, mostly. :D

Unleashed, AKA Danny the Dog

I really enjoyed this. I was expecting a mindless action flick, but got an incredibly well acted, sad, and powerful film instead. All the actors involved do a great job, especially Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins. Hoskins' character was great; one minute you wanted him dead, the next you almost felt sorry for him. Jet Li didn't really have a lot to do, but WOW were his fight scenes cool! The fight at the first was one heck of a way to start a movie! Be warned however: If you watch this movie just to see Jet Li beating the crap out of people, you'll be disappointed. The majority of the film focuses on the relationships between the characters, which elevated so much higher than your typical action movie. The film's only major fault was the ending. I wont spoil it, but I'll just say it reminded me of a really bad after school special. Overall though, this was a really good movie.

7.5/10

Dont watch it because of her, she has like a 2 minute cameo. Great movie, but not because of her

She was in cursed too, that fortune teller. It seems like she always has small roles.

Oh right...I hate psychics in movies. Just a cheap way to get out of explaining the plot IMO.

SodaGirl 04-23-2006 04:07 AM

I just watched 3 movies and enjoyed them all so I'm going to name all 3...

Mean Creek
While it felt more like a watered down "Bully" and I didn't get enough closure at the end, it was still a good movie about revenge among teenagers.
5/10

Little Manhattan
It is a pint sized New York love story about the 2.5 week experience of a 10 year old boy's first love. It's a cute movie for people of all ages.
6/10

First Decent
Kick ass documentary on snowboarding. It's main topic was a group of snowboarders from a few different generations (including White & Teter) going to the Alaska Backcountry and riding down mountains... But it is also filled with the history and evolution of the sport. Awesome stuff.
8/10

Saturday the 14th - Very dated and cheesy but there are still a few laughs you can squeeze out of this one. "Stop it owls!"

Two Thousand Maniacs - A classic in the genre, decent gore for its day as well. Loved the barrel roll.

Mammoth (2006, Science Fiction)..I have to say I was surprised for a sci fi channel original killer creature flick this was actually pretty good and somewhat humerous...6/10 ;)

I couldn't find a picuture of the movie's cover to post, but it looks pretty corny anyways.

Rent

Life. Love. Death. Drugs. AIDS. This movie is about all that and so much more. Admittedly I wasnt expecting it to be very good, but I was hoestly blown away by this film. The actors are phenominal, the songs are all great, the story is powerful...I loved every minute. Well, actually I guess that last part isnt completly true: this drags pretty bad in the middle. The music starts to sound the same, and nothing interesting happens...but that doesnt last long before a series of events brings the show back to it's glory. In closing, I have a confession to make: This is the closest Ive come to crying because of a movie. Call me a pansy, but it's true. Great, powerful film.

I still think the fighting choreography at the ending is some of the best in a while.

Love this movie.. Gigidy gigidy gig!

I really thought the movie version was poorly done and while I'm not a huge fan of the broadway show I thought it was ages above and beyond the movie.

GREAT movie, I will never stop recommending this one to friends. One of myfriends was going to buy either Dead and Breakfast or Undead and was actually leaning heavily toward Undead... thankfully I saved him.

Oh...But...I loved Undead, too...Should have encouraged your friend to get BOTH:)

Thorns_demon 04-24-2006 04:30 AM

dracula 2: ascension and Faust: love of the damned, just horrible.

noctuary 04-24-2006 06:11 AM

Hostel

Not a classic by any means, but much better than I was expecting. The main problem that I had with this film was the generally unlikeable nature of the three main characters. Their crass and ignorant attitudes actually had me hoping that they would die. This may have been Roth's intention (in fact, I suspect it was) but in a "revenge" flick, you should be able to connect with the leads on some level. Still, not a bad movie and very much worth the rental fee, although I probably won't buy it. Overall: 6.5/10

urgeok 04-24-2006 06:15 AM

Wagons East ..

a sad last outing for John Candy.
jesus was he huge - i'd never seen him so fat.

this movie could have worked had anyone other than richard lewis been in it ... who hires this guy and why ??
